Corsair Cove: How To Deal With Incoming Crown Attacks
Incoming!
Corsair Cove is a game where, most of the time, you'll be left to your own devices as you build the pirate hideout of your dreams. Yet, on occasion, you'll be paid a visit by some unwanted guests, hellbent on destroying your buildings, killing your people, and serving as a thorn in your side.
However, you don't need to take this lying down. There is a way to defend against the crown, and a way to snuff their advances out altogether. Here is a guide on how to deal with incoming attacks.
How To Defend Against Incoming Attacks
The first thing you should do when defending your Hideout is build a Small Gun Tower to repel attacks on its ports.
During the game's tutorial, you'll be instructed to build at least one of these defensive structures, but depending on how quickly you expand your operation and how well thought out your supply lines are, you may need some more fine-tuning.
We would suggest having 1-2 Small Gun Towers for every port where a Pirate Camp is active. This will be shown by Green Arrows at the opening of the cliffs.
Additionally, it is important to maintain a reliable supply line of gunpowder to the Small Gun Tower. This means having an active Charburner nearby, a Powdermill, a Warehouse to store excess, and Drifters to do the labor.
These towers can only store a single piece of ammunition, which is why having two is ideal.
How To Intercept Incoming Attacks
There may be situations where you don't have ships constructed, or they may be too far away from Skull Rock to make it back in time. This is why Small Gun Towers are still essential.
However, if you do have some of your fleet to spare, you can scroll out to your Seven Seas Map to track the incoming ship's path.
You can then select your ship, assign a captain and crew, then set off to the incoming ship and engage with it as you would any other event or mission on the map.
This will lead to a naval battle, and usually a pretty testing one, but with a full crew and a fully repaired ship, you should be fine.
You will see a red timer pop up showing how much time you have before they are right on top of you, so bear this in mind and ensure you have enough time to reach the attacking ship.
