Echoes Of Aincrad: How to Beat Snowcap Boar (Iori's Request)

Once you make it through the prologue in Echoes of Aincrad, you’ll get your first quest - Iori’s Request. The main goal of this quest is to defeat the aggressive Snowcap Boar. This creature isn’t that easy and may take you a few tries before you can defeat it. To make this quest easier on you, this guide explains how you can beat the Snowcap Boar for Iori’s Request in Echoes of Aincrad.
Snowcap Boar Boss In Echoes Of Aincrad
Phase 1
To defeat the Snowcap Boar for Iori’s Request in Echoes of Aincrad, make sure to use your Combination Skill with Iori and Parry when you can. The Snowcap Boar moves around a lot, and getting up close is tough without having it slam against you.
Slicing at it will only chip away its health, so to deal the most damage, Parry and Counterattack. It’s harder to get the parry timing correct during the first phase, as the Snowcap Boar is focusing on ice attacks that can leave you Frozen. Being Frozen slows you down, so try not to get stuck in the ice tornado or caught in the ice breath.
Set Iori to Switch mode so you can attack and pull back together. When you roll away after taking a hit, Iori will step in and attack while you take a break. This is also when you should charge up the Combination Skill that lets you and Iori deal a powerful attack to the boar.
Phase 2
Once the Snowcap Boar reaches its second phase, it won’t use ice attacks anymore. Instead, it’ll focus on brute attacks. Now is the time to try parrying. Press the guard button at the perfect moment to parry, then counterattack in the small window of time you have. Iori will step in and make a strong attack if you're successful.
Some of the Snowcap Boar’s AoE attacks don’t let you parry, so dodge them instead. Parry the attacks that try to hit you head-on. If you start taking hits and are low health, drink a health potion or have Iori perform his Support Skill that gives you a small healing zone. If you're struggling to keep your health up and you've run out of potions, we recommend you return to town to craft new potions and try again.
Keep this up, and you will eventually defeat the Snowcap Boar. This will fulfill Iori’s Request, and you’ll get your reward and continue to the next story quest!
