Blink Talismans are incredibly helpful items in Echoes of Aincrad. They can help you teleport across gaps to reach hidden areas with unique rewards, but the game doesn't do a great job explaining how to use them.
These items aren't just for exploration, either. They completely change the game's dodge animation to a teleport, letting you dodge incoming attacks more easily while your party members catch the enemies' attention. Here's how to use Blink Talismans in Echoes of Aincrad.
How to Use Blink Talismans
To use a Blink Talisman, find the item in your pouch and activate it. You'll see an animation of your character crushing the talisman, then your dodge will be replaced with a long-range teleport for the next 30 seconds.
To cross a gap with a Blink Talisman, jump into the air and press the dodge button. Think of it like a mid-air dash in a platformer like Cuphead. You can use the teleport as many times as you like during the Blink Talisman's 30-second activation window, so you'll have time to safely line up your jump.
Make sure you're pressing the dodge button! The game's Blink Talisman tutorial says you can cross the gap by "using its powers and jumping," but the jump button alone won't activate the teleport. You have to jump and dodge.
How to Get Blink Talismans
Blink Talismans can be found by exploring Aincrad during quests, but the best way to get them is from the Item Seller back in the Town of Beginnings. This vendor has Blink Talismans and other basic equipment on sale for relatively cheap.
Once you've purchased some Blink Talismans, you'll need to put them in your pouch in order to use them during quests. Swing by your room at the inn and customize your loadout at your personal chest. You only have a limited number of pouch slots, but Blink Talismans are definitely worth bringing along!
