Essence Extraction is one of the main gathering systems in Aion 2. It lets you to collect resources from nodes and use those materials for crafting and other progression systems. Unlike your character level, Essence Extraction has its own proficiency levels and progression system.
This system be quite overwhelming ot understand, especially for beginners. So, to help you out, here’s a complete guide that explains how essence extraction works, the materials you can gather, how to level up and become a Professional Extractor in Aion 2.
Essence Extraction in Aion 2, Explained
Essence Extraction is Aion 2's primary gathering profession. It allows you to collect different types of resources from nodes scattered throughout the open world, including Ore, Gems, Herbs, Logs, Ingredients, and Odyle. These materials are a part of the game's crafting economy and can be used as ingredients for various crafted items.
Your Essence Extraction level is separate from your character level. Therefore, leveling your character does not automatically increase your gathering proficiency. So, to increase your Essence Extraction Level, you have to interact with resource nodes and successfully extract materials to level up the profession and unlock additional skill points.
How to Unlock Essence Extraction in Aion 2
To unlock Essence Extraction, your character must be level 10. Once it is available to your character, you can gather resources by approaching a resource node and interacting with it. Resource nodes display their material type, which allows you to identify what you are about to get before starting the extraction process.
After interacting with a node, the gathering process begins automatically and displays two gauges. Your objective is to fill the Success Gauge before the Failure Gauge reaches its limit. If the Success Gauge reaches 100% first, you successfully collect the resource. If the Failure Gauge fills first, the attempt fails.
NOTE: You will not receive any resource if your extraction fails in that node. However, you will still receive the EXP that is required for your Essence Extraction progression path.
All Materials and How to Get Them in Aion 2
Essence Extraction has six main resource categories: Ore, Gems, Logs, Herbs, Cooking Ingredients, and Odyle. You can gather them from Verteron (Elyos Faction) and Altgard (Asmodians Faction), although Odyle can be found in Chaotic Lower Reshanta. All Essence Extraction Proficiency Levels in Aion 2
Essence Extraction currently has two proficiency grades: Novice and Professional. Each grade contains Levels 1 through 50 and has a separate progression path that increases as you continue gathering.
So, if you reach a new level, you will receive Common Skill Points. Likewise, certain milestone levels also provide Specialty Skill Points. These points allow you to improve your gathering capabilities in a particular material category. Below, we’ve listed all the details.

NOTE: Once you reach Novice Level 50, you cannot continue progressing through the Novice rank. You must complete the required promotion quest to become a Professional Extractor.
How to Become a Professional Essence Extractor
After you reach Novice Level 50, the [Upgrade] Essence Extraction Specialty Skill quest becomes available. The quest requires you to obtain a Splendent Ruby by extracting Ruby from regular Ruby gathering nodes.
If you are an Asmodians Faction player, you need to speak with Alzirr and can search for Ruby in areas such as Dredgion Crash Site, Calderon Canyon, Tranein Highland, Silent Hill, and Nameless Cemetery.
Whereas, for Elyos Faction players, you need to speak with Korius, with Ruby available around Ellun River Midstream, Verteron Fortress Ruins, Destroyed Abyss Gate, and Kraka Footpath.
Once you obtain the Splendent Ruby, return to Alzirr (Asmodian) or Korius (Elyos) to complete the quest and become a Professional Essence Extractor.
