Final Fantasy Resonance: How to Unlock the Onion Knight

The warrior who carries the light of the crystals!

2 min read

With Final Fantasy Resonance, the franchise brings back the turn-based combat that accompanied the first entries in the series. In addition to modern pixel graphics, Resonance also brings a system known as Visions.

These Visions bring the protagonists from other Final Fantasy games as battle allies in Resonance. One of these characters is the Onion Knight from Final Fantasy III. Visions can be found on Sanctums of Light around the world of Resonance, and in this guide, we'll show you how to reach the Onion Knight's Sanctum.

Where to Find the Sanctum of Onion Knight

While available in early game, specifically Chapter 2, this Sanctum of Light is one of those that require a bit of extra exploration, as it is far from the main path. First, head to Dirnado, the Continent of Wind. From the Wind Shrine, take the road that leads to the path under the bridges. Take the turn that leads to the Shoggoth Cave, but instead of heading to the cave, turn left to reach a new entrance to Mt. Thunderclap.

Once inside Mt. Thunderclap, take the left path and exit by the opening at the end. This opening will take you to another road, where you will find the Sanctum at its end. Inside the Sanctum, you will be asked three questions related to the lore of the Onion Knight. However, it doesn't matter how you answer; you will get the Vision regardless.

Onion Knight's Role

  • Role: Commando
  • Element: Fire, Wind, Earth.
  • Resonance: Job Change Attack - Deal non-elemental magic damage to all enemies. Increase power of Blade Torrent by 20% until battle ends.
  • World: Final Fantasy III

The Onion Knight pairs well with magic-heavy characters, such as Fina and Lasswell. The Knight brings elements that both of these characters lack. Some of the Knight's best abilities include Throw, in which you can throw an item at a target, and Dual Jobs, which grant the use of both Blade Torrent and a selected Onion Knight skill in a single turn.
