Final Fantasy Resonance: Ruby Cave Fragments Location
Solved the riddle to gain a powerful ally.
Final Fantasy Resonance brings a pixel world full of activities to complete. Among these activities, you can find collectibles by exploring, solving riddles, or discovering Espers in caves. Some side activities, however, will have you perform all of these in a single task, as is the case with the Ruby Cave.
This cave will have you solving a riddle and finding collectibles to unlock an Esper, and in this guide, we'll show you how you can solve this puzzle.
Where to Find the Ruby Cave
You can find the Ruby Cave in the Olderion Federation, a zone you reach in Chapter 3 of the main story. There are two ways you can go to the cave. First, immediately after reaching Olderion, instead of heading directly into the Aquapolis, turn a bit left just off the shore. Go through the woods to find the cave at the end.
If you are already at the Aquapolis, then simply follow the path just outside the entrance. Continue straight until you arrive at the woods. Once inside the cave, you will find a tombstone that will give you a riddle after you interact with it.
Note: You can get extra information on Ruby Cave by talking to Dalim, an NPC in Aquapolis.
Where to Find the Ruby Cave Fragments
The riddle will mention that you need three fragments for your wish to be granted. It says that the first fragment is southeast of the city, and that it holds the big and small ponds in both hands. The second fragment is east of the city, with your back to the two indentations, look to the sea.
The last fragment is northwest of the city, left of the seven waterfalls. Lastly, the riddle mentions that they must be found in this order for the wish to work.
First Fragment Location
As mentioned in the riddle, the first fragment is located southeast of Aquapolis. Just follow the path that goes southeast and turn to the two ponds; between them, you will find the fragment.
Second Fragment Location
From the first fragment location, get back on the path that goes east. Follow the path until you reach two holes that are situated together in the hills to the left. Move to the right, to the sea's location, and you will find the fragment there.
Third Fragment Location
After the second fragment, fast travel back to Aquapolis. Go out of the city and follow the path that goes west. At the intersection, turn left, then as soon as you cross the small bridge over the river, go up the slope. You will find the last fragment there.
Riddle Reward
When you get the third fragment, fast travel back to the Ruby Cave and approach the tombstone. There, a cutscene will play that reveals the wish is for none other than Carbuncle, an Esper/Summoning creature that has appeared across multiple Final Fantasy games.
Once the scene is over, Carbuncle will join Fina as a summon. Carbuncle brings abilities such as Ruby Light, which casts Reflect on all allies, and Healing Ruby, which casts Regen on allies for five turns.
