Moonlight Peaks: Best Early Game Energy Sources

Get a little pep in your step with these handy items

Updated 3 min read

In Moonlight Peaks, at least at the beginning of your adventure, it will feel like there is simply too much to do in a day. Your farmstead is in disarray; you need to plant and water your crops, and there's a whole map begging to be explored.

But the one thing stopping you from doing all that right away is your energy bar, which will deplete pretty rapidly, leading to that dreaded 'I'm too tired' pop-up that signals that your day is pretty much done.

Well, while there aren't a ton of energy sources early on, which seems to be by design, there are a few decent options that might make your days stretch a little bit further.

Gazpacho Soup

The first, and likely most obvious option, since you have two in your inventory when you start the game, is Gazpacho Soup. A recipe you have access to right away that can be made pretty easily and inexpensively.

This is because Onion Seeds and Blood Tomato Seeds can be dug up from the ground if you're lucky. But even if you're not, they aren't all that expensive when bought directly from Luna.

This restores a total of 40 energy, making it the most useful and accessible single-use option of all items listed here.

Farmer's Stew

An alternative option to Gazpacho Soup is Farmer's Stew. Another item that makes use of Blood Tomatoes, but differs slightly as it uses Eggplant in this recipe.

This offers slightly less energy, coming in at 25 energy per use. But, the upside is that Eggplant grows wild in Moonlight Pines during the Spring Season. So, it means the trade-off is fewer crops to grow to cook this recipe.

Blood Orange Tea

This one is something that you'll need to be pretty proactive early on to make work. But, if you think ahead, you'll reap the rewards in less than a month in-game.

To make this work, you'll need to craft a Bee House, which you get the blueprint for pretty early on. Requiring 10x Hardwood Planks and 20x Fiber to make. This means you'll also need a Refiner and an upgraded Axe to make those Hardwood Planks.

Second, you'll need to plant a Blood Orange Tree, which takes 25 days to mature and costs 3,000 Gold.

However, if you do this, you'll have ample resources daily to make an item that offers 40 energy per use. It requires some grind, but the rewards are sweet, quite literally.

Fairy Cupcake

This item isn't immediately available; it only becomes available when Mina's Cafe, Coffee and Coffins expands its menu. This happens roughly around the start of Summer, depending on your quest progression. However, it's an option that's too good not to mention.

At this point you'll be making thousands of gold a day on average if you've set up your farm well. Meaning that dropping the 360 gold needed to purchase one of these is pocket change.

But what you get is an item that will restore 20 energy for a very low cost. Something to consider when you pop into town for a snack.

Common Mushrooms

Then lastly, we also want to give a shoutout to the Common Mushroom. An item that can be found and foraged in bulk via the Cave in Misty Shores. The same area you'll find yourself mining for Copper and Iron Ore.

This item only gives you back 1 energy point. But, this can be very helpful in a pinch. As one Mushroom will be enough to dig one more hole, and a handful of Mushrooms will allow you to chop down one more tree.

Better options will come along, but due to the ease of access to loads of these items early, it's best to forage them and keep them in your pocket. You never know when you might need that tiny boost to finish a job.
