Aion 2: Can You Change Classes? (Complete Class List)
Here's every class in Aion 2 and how to switch between them!
Aion 2 has several unique classes, each with its own skills, passives, playstyle, and combat role. But, with so many options, you might get confused on which one to pick, and whether you can change it later.
So, to help you clarify any doubt you might have regarding your class, this complete guide explains whether you can change classes in Aion 2 and provides a detailed overview of all available classes.
Can You Change Classes in Aion 2?
You cannot currently change the class of an existing character in Aion 2. Once you have used a character slot for a class, that class remains tied to that character. There is currently no menu option, NPC, item, or class-change service that lets you switch classes in a single character slot.
However, you can create a new character from the server’s main menu by selecting the Create Character option. This allows you to create a new character and choose the class that best suits your preferred playstyle for that slot.
For example, if you start as an Assassin and later decide that you would rather play a Gladiator, you cannot convert that Assassin into a Gladiator. Instead, you need to create a new character and select Gladiator for that slot.
This makes your first class choice important if you intend to invest significant time into your main character. So, instead of picking a class only because it is considered strong, choose one whose combat style and role match the way you play.
NOTE: You can create up to 4 free characters in Aion 2. So be mindful when you are picking a class for your character.

Gladiator includes abilities such as Ruinous Blow, which can hit multiple enemies and provide an offensive buff. Blood Absorption, on the other hand, provides recovery during prolonged combat. The class can also use defensive tools such as Focused Block, which allows it to sustain as a frontline.
Templar
The Templar is the dedicated tank of Aion 2, capable of protecting allies and maintaining enemy attention. Its playstyle revolves around generating Enmity, blocking, defensive buffs, crowd control, and enemy positioning.
Skills such as Poach and Grapple help pull enemies into position, while defensive abilities such as Ironclad Defense and Block Pain improve its ability to withstand fatal attacks. So, choose Templar if you want to play the main tank and protect your party.
Assassin
The Assassin is a fast melee DPS class built around Dagger attacks, Back Attacks, Critical Hits, and burst damage. Positioning is crucial because several of its strongest attacks require getting behind enemies.
Ambush deals 30% more damage when performed as a Back Attack, while Insignia Explosion deals more damage as you gain more Insignia stacks. You also get Movement skills such as Shadowstrike and Infiltrate allow the Assassin to reposition quickly. This class is best if you enjoy fast-paced melee combat, burst damage, mobility, and can position effectively.
Ranger
The Ranger specializes in dealing ranged physical damage. It can maintain pressure from a distance while using mobility, Slow, Stun, Bleed, traps, and charged attacks.
Marking Shot grants Precision with 300 Critical Hit, while Deadshot deals 35% additional damage while Precision is active. Therefore, choose Ranger if you prefer ranged DPS, kiting, mobility, and inflicting CC from a distance.
Sorcerer
The Sorcerer is a magic DPS class specializing in Fire and Water attacks. It deals heavy AoE damage with Slow, Root, Frost, and other control effects.
Its charged abilities provide some of its biggest damage windows. Hellfire can reach 3,412 + 1,017.75% Attack at maximum charge against up to four enemies. The Sorcerer is best suited for those who enjoy ranged spellcasting, elemental attacks, AoE damage, and crowd control.
Spiritmaster
The Spiritmaster is a summoner class that fights alongside elemental spirits. The four standard spirits each provide different utility. The Earth Spirit generates Enmity and can Taunt targets, the Water Spirit helps recover MP, and the Wind Spirit can restore HP to the caster.
The class also builds elemental stacks that let you use the Elemental Fusion skill. When activated, this ability can deal massive amounts of damage. Spiritmaster is a good choice if you enjoy summoned units, ranged combat, DoT effects, and debuffs.
Cleric
The Cleric is Aion 2's primary healer. It uses a Mace and focuses on restoring HP, cleansing debuffs, protecting party members, and keeping allies alive during difficult encounters. Its healing toolkit includes direct healing, area recovery, and healing-over-time abilities.
Stigma Skills also provide support with immunity, healing, damage reduction, and resurrection utility. So, choose Cleric if you want to play a dedicated healer and provide support during PvP content.
Chanter
The Chanter is a support class that deals damage and can provide party buffs, healing, shields, and defensive buffs. Unlike the more specialized Cleric, the Chanter spreads its utility across several support functions.
Its Mantras can improve party performance, while Protection Circle builds stacks through attacks before providing shields to the party. Chanter is ideal for those who enjoy a support-focused playstyle through powerful buffs and utility while still dealing decent damage.
