Loftia: How To Upgrade The Pruners

Just like the Hammer, your Pruners will also eventually need an upgrade in Loftia. Pruners are not only used for harvesting plants found in the wild, but they can also help you get past areas blocked by tree branches.

Breaching blocked areas requires Lv. 2 Pruners, but coming across this crafting recipe isn't as obvious as you'd think. Here's how you can upgrade your Pruners in Loftia.

How to upgrade to Pruners Lv. 2 in Loftia

You can upgrade your Pruners to Lv. 2 in Loftia by completing the Murky Waters bundle at the Central Lake Research Station and by upgrading your Project Station to Lv. 2.

Once you make it to the Hanging Gardens by playing the main story quests, you'll eventually gain access to the Central Lake Research Station. By completing specific bundles, you can earn rewards, like the crafting recipe for Pruners Lv. 2.

The Murky Waters bundle requires one Spring Pygmy Sunfish, Moapa Dace, Dalhousie Catfish, and Red Handfish. You'll only find these fish in the Overgrowth area of the Hanging Gardens, meaning you'll first have to upgrade your Hammer.

There are two ponds in The Overgrowth that spawn all four of these fish species, so once you catch one of each, donate them to the bundle and receive the Pruners Lv. 2 recipe.

After that, return to your neighborhood and make sure you've upgraded your Project Station. This upgrade requires three Copper Scraps, five Screws, and five Scrap Wire. You should now be able to upgrade your Pruners with two Copper Bars and two Flexible Lumber.

Both of these materials can be made in the Refining Station. The Copper Bar requires five Copper Scraps, which are found all over the Hanging Gardens, and Flexible Lumber requires five Rattan, which is obtained from the tall Rattan plant in the Hanging Gardens.

You will also need seven Energy to craft Pruners Lv. 2, so make sure you've also upgraded your Battery to hold that much energy.
