Moonlight Peaks: How To Refill Mana
Your spells are only as powerful as the mana used to cast them.
Moonlight Peaks is a game that has caught the attention of the spooky and cozy community alike for its goth girlie aesthetic and its choice to lean into themes of magic and the occult. Something that, by extension, allows you, the player, to cast spells and become a vampire/witch combo.
However, to do that, you need access to a working wand and the ability to refill your mana on a consistent basis to power the spells that will help you automate your farming duties, grow magic crops, and much more.
It's not immediately clear how you do that, but with this guide, we will help you keep your mana stars stocked and your wand busy.
How To Fix Your Broken Wand
Firstly, to spend mana, you'll need a working wand. Something that you're short of at the start of the game.
To fix the wand you have in your possession, you'll need to complete the Mission 'The Magic of Crops'. A quest that sees you fix your wand and learn the Aquaflux spell to help Luna grow some Moonfruit on her farm.
To keep things succinct, when you complete the first few stages of this quest, you'll gain access to your wand, and by extension, Spells. But if you want more detail, we have a full guide you can check out.
Alongside the Aquaflux spell that you'll gain automatically during this quest, you can also purchase multiple other spells from Sabrina at the shop, Web of Wonders.
How To Refill Your Mana
With a working wand, you can now cast spells, and that costs mana every time you do. Varying in cost depending on what spell you want to cast. Meaning, if you cast a costly spell, or multiple spells in a day, you'll need a means of refilling your Mana Stars.
The passive way to restore Mana is by finishing your day and heading to bed, because at the start of a new day you gain a fresh new Mana Star.
However, if you want to restore Mana in bulk, you'll need to get your hands on some Mana Essence. You'll get one bottle for free at the end of the quest, 'The Quest for Mana'. However, after that, you'll need to build your own Mana Extractor to make this item.
You'll get this blueprint for completing this quest, and once crafted, you will be able to feed it magical crops, effectively juicing them down to create Mana Essence.
It's also worth noting that you can purchase a Mana Upgrade from Sabrina for 10,000 Gold. But even if you have this additional Mana Star, you'll still need Mana Essence to fill it up.
How To Craft A Mana Extractor
To craft a Mana Extractor, you'll first want to do two things. You'll want to upgrade your Pickaxe at least once, which will cost 5x Copper Bars. This will give you access to the Quartz Cave in Moonlight Pines. Where you can mine for Rose Quartz.
Second, you'll want to take the time to craft an Enchanted Mortar, as this will be needed to grind down the Rose Quartz, which can then be put in a Furnace to make Glass. You will need the following items to make this tool:
- Iron Bars (x5)
- Refined Stone (x10)
Then, once you have all of these things in place, you can gather the resources you need to craft a Mana Extractor. To make this item, you will need the following:
- Planks (x5)
- Refined Stone (x5)
- Copper Bars (x5)
- Glass (x5)
Once crafted, all you need to do is feed magical crops into this enchanted machine, and depending on the potency of the item, this will get you some percentage towards a full bottle of Mana Essence.
A quick tip for those who don't want to spend forever farming magical crops. You can use Glowhammer during the Summer season to fill up this bar, as it grows wild in Moonlight Pines and Quartz Cave.
