Moonlight Peaks: Where to Find Iron, Copper, & Gold Ore (All Ores Locations guide)
Ore is used in a huge number of recipes in Moonlight Peaks, and while Stone can be found in abundance, you will need to hunt down the best ore deposit location, too. If you need to get your vampy hands on some Iron Ore, Copper Ore, or Gold Ore in Moonlight Peaks, there's one specific area of the map that you should target.
Iron, Copper, & Gold Ore Locations in Moonlight Peaks
All three types of ore can be found in the far north part of Moonlit Pines. From your farm, exit to the right so that you're in the same area that Luna inhabits during the night, and then follow the path to the north.
While you may find a couple of small Iron Ore deposits dotted around the forest, there's only one area of Moonlit Pines where ore will reappear day after day.
From the entrance to the forest, walk north, veering slightly to the left when you reach the stone circle on the floor that depicts a flower.
Walk around it until you reach the bridge that connects the Moonlit Pines to a small island at the top of the map.
Cross the bridge. The lower and upper parts of the island will have multiple ore deposits for you to mine. Iron Ore looks grey/silver, Copper Ore is orange, and Gold Ore is... Well, gold.
However, the colour difference between Copper Ore and Gold Ore is very minute (especially if, like me, you have a screen dimmer active to counteract blue light).
You will need a Pickaxe to mine any of the ores. It takes 4 Energy to break a small ore deposit and 8 Energy for a large ore deposit.
How to Turn Ore into Bars in Moonlight Peaks
As you craft more items, you may need Iron Bars, Copper Bars, or Gold Bars. To do this in your home, you will need to make a Furnace at your Crafting Table first (15x Copper Ore, 5x Refined Stone).
Place the furnace wherever you want it and interact with it to make the bars.
- Iron Bars = 4x Iron Ore, 1x Charcoal
- Copper Bars = 4x Copper Ore, 1x Charcoal
- Gold Bars = 4x Gold Ore, 1x Charcoal
Charcoal is also made using the Furnace; you just have to add Wood.
I wouldn't recommend mining as one of the best ways to make money early in Moonlight Peaks. Ore, by itself, is pretty worthless. It's worth a little more in bar form, but it's better to use this resource to craft furniture items than to try to make money.
