Best Mining Pals in Palworld 1.0
One Blazamut, Two Blazamut, Three Blazamut, FOUR!
Mining is one of the core functions for your Palworld base, alongside food production, lumbering, ranching, and many other tasks that you assign your hard-working Pals to. Palworld can levy pretty heavy material requirements on you, especially later in the game - it's essential that you set up all the relevant resource mines in your base to eliminate the need for you to hunt down ore, which quickly becomes tedious. But you'll also need Pals with the Mining Work Efficiency to operate your buildings.
You've probably started out with a Cattiva, graduated to a Penking after you defeat him on the first island, and you want to know who's worth hunting down next. Here's every single mining Pal in Palworld 1.0 and their relative mining skill level.

How to Get Aegidron
Aegidron is officially the best mining Pal, clocking in at Level 8 Mining. However, he's only obtainable in the World Tree region as a level 79 Alpha Boss in the southwest region of the map, making him a truly formidable foe to defeat.
As a result, you're not likely to get Aegidron until pretty late in the game, which lessens his value in the context of mining. By the time you reach him, you'll only be looking to farm extremely high-level ores. But the grind for Pal Metal, Plasteel, Soralite, and other metals needed just before your ascension to the World Tree area can become pretty tiresome, elevating your need for a high-level mining Pal.
How to Get a Level 7 Mining Pal
How to Get Blazamut
So here are some alternatives to Pals locked behind the World Tree barrier. Starting off with Blazamut, he can be found as a level 52 Alpha Pal in the eastern volcanic region of the Palpagos Islands at coordinates -737, -333.
Throughout your natural quest progression, you'll be directed to this area, but you most certainly won't be strong enough to defeat him on your natural journey. You'll probably need to return after you've beefed up your power a bit to successfully capture Blazamut in a Pal Sphere. Blazamut truly is such a godsend Pal to help you chip away at those plentiful ore mines in your base.
How to Get Astegon
Another Pal who boasts a level 7 Mining Work Suitability is Astegon. Astegon is a similar level to Blazamut, but considerably more difficult to fight as he resides in the No.2 Wildlife Sanctuary as a level 55 Alpha Pal at coordinates -689, -110.
The No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary is just above the volcanoes, and you'll need a decently strong swimming or flying mount to make the journey across the ocean in order to reach it. This shielded dome is home to two Ancient Drones that will patrol the area with huge spotlights; don't get caught in their glaring red lights, or you'll instantly evaporate.
You'll find Astegon inside the central cave, away from the Ancient Drone threat and the commotion outside.
How to Get Knocklem
The final level 7 Mining Pal I would recommend to you is Knocklem. Sticking with our volcanic theme, Knocklem also resides in the magma-flooded region, in the ancient city ruins to the north. You'll find him at coordinates -586, -250 as a level 55 Alpha Pal, close to a Bounty Target - be mindful not to pull both at the same time.
You'll find lots of effigies around these ruins, and a Black Marketeer to trade with.
Extra Mining Tips
If you haven't progressed far enough to bag one of these heavy hitters, you can check the Pal Merchants and Black Marketeers who often sell powerful adversaries as friendly Pals for you to purchase with gold. Throughout my Palworld playthrough, I was obscenely rich, just by natural progression and by doing absolutely nothing fancy - this is a great way to make sure you actually spend your gold.
You can find Pal Merchants at Fisherman's Point and Duneshelter, and check out our Black Marketeer Location Guide to clue up on their spawns.
Furthermore, don't forget about your legendary skill books! I accidentally held on to mine for a very long time - make sure you utilize their helpfulness when you feel the increased material demand.
My best early game upgrade was finding a Xenogard at a Meteorite event; he really buffed my ore collection speed and kickstarted my Iron Ingot stockpile. Check out our Meteorite Event Guide for more details about how to obtain him.
Good luck on your Mining Pal hunt! I really can't stress the importance of having stronger miners in your base; it cuts out a huge chunk of the grind automatically!
