Palworld: How to Find Meteorite Fragments & All Meteor-Exclusive Pals
Meteorites come bearing rare Pals and special Meteorite Fragments - here's how to find them.
Trying to complete your Palpedia and there are a few entries that aren't showing? Or maybe you've collected some Meteorite Fragments from a random package that fell from the sky, and you're not quite sure what they are or what to do with them.
Do not fret, adventurer; this guide will teach you everything you need to know about Meteors in Palworld, including how to find them, what wild Pals you can expect, and what items you can craft with your rewards.
How to Find Meteorite Fragments
Meteorite Descents are random events that occur in Palworld as you travel across the lands. A red warning label will appear on your screen to inform you that a Meteorite is falling from the sky, accompanied by some violent screen shaking depending on how close you are, and an ear-pricking sound cue. It's quite hard to accidentally ignore this world event.
If you don't happen to spot the gigantic space rock hurtling through the atmosphere, you should see a Meteorite icon on your compass at the top of your screen, or you can alternatively open the map to see its exact location - the event will usually only spawn in the immediate vicinity; you won't have to go trekking for miles.
From my experience, Meteorite events do not despawn until you complete them - so if you're trying for a fresh drop, make sure you clear the old one off your map entirely.
How to Find Xenovader and Xenogard
However, you need to be wary when approaching the Meteorite, as hostile Pals will sometimes accompany the foreign galactic object.
You'll find Xenovader or Xenogard fending off Syndicate attackers who have quickly mobilised to investigate the falling debris. Usually the Pals will win, but you should rush to the site as quickly as possible to capture them.
Huge alien-like creatures are pretty hard to miss, and Xenogard is even harder to miss, as a red boss health bar will appear when you get near him. He has a small chance to spawn instead of Xenovaders, which increases in probability if the meteorite lands on a higher-levelled island. Xenogard also has a helpful passive which increases the player's weapon damage by 10%.
How to Find Selyne
Now registering an even rarer spawn, Selyne. She only spawns alongside Meteorite Events on Sakurajima Island or in World Tree areas, making her incredibly hard to catch if you aren't very lucky. Selyne is a flying Pal with a fun mount animation; the player character sits on her moon that is suspended across her back while she carries them into battle. She also has impressive Handiwork work suitability, clocking in at level 7, which can be a huge help in your base.
How to Get Meteorite Fragments
Usually, there will be some Meteorite Fragments scattered around as you arrive, but you'll need to take your trusty pickaxe to the huge purple rock for the bulk of the fragments. Just a slight warning: the fragments inconveniently weigh an absolute ton, so make sure you keep your inventory clear - or even plan a couple of trips to collect all the goodies.
What to do with Meteorite Fragments
Although Meteorite Events appear to be quite extravagant and important, there aren't actually many ways to utilise your Meteorite Fragments. However, here are the best ways to spend your fragments.
Meteor Launcher
Posing as a powerful threat, the Meteor Launcher packs a hard punch with 2000 attack power. It's definitely a decent weapon to pick up, especially in the early game. You can unlock this unique weapon in the technology tree after reaching level 38. To craft the Meteor Launcher, you'll need 100 Meteorite Fragments, 30 Refined Ingots, 20 Paldium Fragments, and 5 Corrosive Solvent.
You'll need to craft Meteorite Ammo at a Weapons Workbench to actually fire the weapon, and due to the low frequency of Meteorite spawns, you'll find yourself running out of ammunition pretty quickly if you use the launcher as your primary weapon.
Crush Them
Alternatively, you can crush your Meteorite Fragments with a Crusher to obtain 3 Paldium Fragments for each Meteorite Fragment. Paldium Fragments are incredibly important for a lot of different crafting recipes, including the manufacture of Pal Spheres, which are essential for your Palworld journey.
To construct a Crusher, you'll need 50 Wood, 20 Stone, and 10 Paldium Fragments - but you'll promptly find that you can opt to crush Stone for Paldium Fragments, so I would recommend saving your Meteorite Fragments for ammunition.
