Palworld: How to Get Frostallion (Location, Breeding Guide, Stats, Work, & More)

One of the most reliable Pals for both battle and exploration.

Updated 4 min read

Palworld has over 200 different Pals for Tamers to discover, capture, and collect. However, some Pals can be more difficult to acquire than others. One such example is Frostallion, a powerful Ice-type Pal that not only has some of the best stats in the game, but can also be used as a very efficient Pal Mount or for a highly consistent option in maintaining certain tasks around your base.

If you're wondering how to get Frostallion in Palworld and the best uses for this creature, everything you'll need to know has been outlined in the guide below - including work suitability, stats, skills, and gear.

Frostallion Location in Palworld & How to Capture

For many Pals, information regarding their general habitat across the Palpagos Islands can be found in the Paldeck. Players can then use this information to search a specific area on the map and track down whichever Pal they are hunting.

However, Frostallion is one of the few Pals that isn't readily available in the wild, and therefore the Paldeck has no leads to offer in terms of how to find the guardian deity.

Instead, Frostallion is available as a stationary boss at a designated spot on the map. In order to track one down, you will need to reach this specific area, weaken it in battle, and successfully capture it. You can also obtain additional Frostallion with the use of the breeding farm, but this species can only breed with one another, not with any other Pals, so you will need to use the following boss spawn location to capture at least two of the Pal species before breeding, anyhow.

Frostallion Boss Location

Frostallion is available at the frozen lake section of the snow island in Palworld. The specific location has been included on the map screenshot above.

However, Frostallion is a level 60 boss. This means that you won't be able to reliably defeat and/or capture the Pal until the late game - especially as it is such a strong attacker.

Aside from that, you'll also need to keep the environment in mind. The snowy island tends to inflict cold damage that will chip away at your health. The only way to get around this is to either have a Fire Type Pal by your side for heat, or to have crafted armor or accessories with enough cold resistance to negate this damage.

One of the best accessories in the game is the Multiclimate Undershirt, which provides both heat and cold resistance simultaneously. While generally a late-game item, we've identified a way that players can acquire this early into their run.

Be sure to check out our guide for obtaining the Multiclimate Undershirt if you want to prepare for the battle against Frostallion.

Best Pals to Help Beat & Capture Frostallion

With Frostallion being a higher-level boss and also having a strong lineup of stats, it can be a fearsome foe to face in battle. Ensuring you are prepared ahead of time with a team of reliable Pals is important, so we've also identified some of the best options.

Frostallion is an Ice Type, so the best option is to use strong Fire Type Pals for super effective damage, helping you get the boss to low health much faster.

Here are some suitable choices, though if you do not have them then any adequately levelled Fire Pal should be able to do the job:

Jormuntide Ignis NOTE: The strongest Fire Pal, but has Dual Dragon Typing, which is weak to ice.
Blazamut
Blazamut Ryu
Incineram
Kitsun
Faleris

How to Use Frostallion As a Pal Mount

Frostallion can also be used as a Pal Mount if you craft the required gear at a Pal Gear Workbench. What makes it such a viable mount compared to others is both the fact that it has a very consistent speed compared to many other mounts, and the fact that it can 'run' across both land and air, letting you easily traverse almost any terrain.

In order to use Frostallion as a Pa Mount, you will need to craft a Frostallion Saddle. This item can be unlocked from the Technology menu for 5 points, but you will need to be at least level 62 to do so.

Frostallion Work Suitability & Stats, Explained

Frostallion has a singular work compatibility with level 7 Cooling. This makes it one of the best Pals for this task, but due to a lack of variety, it is often better to assign your base slots with Pals who can attend more than one work type.

Instead, Frotallion should be prioritized in battle, for exploration, and/or as a main member of your core team. It has great stats with 140 HP, 140 ATK, and 140 DEF, making it extremely well-rounded. It's also a very easy Pal to manoeuvre whilst using it as a mount, with powerful AOE and projectile attacks to help you fend off any threats encountered along the way.

When being used as a mount, Frostallon's Partner Skill will activate. This skill is called Icy Steed, and will automatically change your attack type as the player to Ice. In addition to this, your attack will also be increased, and there will be a chance to inflict freeze on hits.
