Aniimo: How to Get Thornblade (All Variants)
Thornblade, in all four variants!
In Aniimo, there are a range of different elemental creatures roaming the world that you can battle and capture. Thornblade is one of these creatures, known for its DPS role and Grass typing. Thornblade has four main variants to collect in total, and if you're wondering how to go about obtaining any (or all) of them during your playthrough, then we've got you covered.
Here's how to get Thornblade in Aniimo, including wild encounters, the evolution method, and where you can find the Thunderstone Thornblade, Towerwood Thornblade, and Prismana Thornblade forms.
Where to Find & Capture Thornblade in Aniimo
In Aniimo, Thornblade can actually be encountered and captured fairly early on, within the Sea of Flowers map location around the level 20-25 mark. Once you reach this level, head over to the approximate location marked on the map screenshot below.
Roam around, and you should be able to encounter a Thornblade or two with no issues. Thornblade is also quite a rapid attacker and particularly strong at melee range, so it's recommended to keep a Fire Type Aniimo in your party for bonus damage during the fight.
Scorchowl is always a reliable choice as it can go head-to-head with Thornblae at melee and has explosive Fire damage.
How to Evolve Budsquire Into Thornblade
Thornblade can also be acquired by levelling up and evolving a Budsquire. The evolution prerequisites for this are as follows:
- Budsquire Level 27+
- Defeat a Thornblade using a party that only has a Budsquire in it
- Sprout Stone x1
How to Fulfill Budsquire Evolution Requirements
To fulfill this evolution requirement, you must remove all Aniimo from your party apart from a single Budsquire. You now need to approach and defeat a Thornblade in combat - there are a few around the Sea of Flowers area if you want lower-leveled ones, and swarms around Rosetower Woods.
You must not have any other Aniimo types in your party, and the number of Budsquire cannot exceed one; otherwise, this will not work. You must also not capture the Thornblade in order for the evolution criteria to register the encounter as a successful defeat.
How to Get Sprout Stones in Aniimo
To get Sprout Stones in Aniimo, you need to defeat Alpha Leafy, as this is a material drop exclusive to this boss. Alpha Leafy can be found in the Mistwoods around the water, and will spawn in at around level 35-40, so do keep this in mind.

How to Get Thunderstorm Thornblade
Thunderstorm form is a Grass/Lightning Dual-Type variant of Thornblade. Luckily for those seeking this one out, you can find it not too far from where the regular Thornblade form can be seen roaming in Sea of Flowers.
As seen in the map screenshot below, Thunderstorm Formblade tends to reside by the marked structure. If you've not yet interacted with this area, you should be able to find it standing in front of a hut with several Budsquire inside.
How to Get Towerwood Thornblade
Towerwood form, while offering no elemental Dual-Typing, is recognizable compared to other Thornblade forms by the large feather on its head, resembling a knight's helmet.
If you're in search of this variant, then you're in luck. They can be spotted quite frequently throughout the Breezy Plains area, usually leading a patrol of Budsquire on a march.

How to Get Prismana Thornblade
Prismana Thornblade is the rarest of all Thornblade variants that can be found in the wild, carrying a Grass/Water Dual-Typing.
Prismana Aniimo are much harder to obtain from the wild, as they can only be found during a Prismana Flow event. Only one spawn can occur at a time, and it will not respawn during the event after defeat or capture, so ensure you are appropriately prepared.
During a Prismana Flow event, Prismana Thornblade can be found in Sea of Flowers, at the same approximate map location in which you can usually find Thunderstorm Thornblade.
