Final Fantasy Resonance: Where to Find Cactuar & Farm MRP
Find some Cactuar and farm easy MRP.
There are numerous different monsters that you can encounter throughout your adventure in Final Fantasy Resonance. However, some may be restricted to certain areas, or even offer different benefits upon a successful victory. One such monster, for example, is the Cactuar, which can be used by players to farm MRP, due to this specific creature giving a generous chunk of the resource upon defeat.
If you're wondering where you can find Cactua in Final Fantasy Resonance and how to use them to farm MRP, then all relevant information has been included in the guide below.
Cactuar Location in Final Fantasy Resonance (MRP Farming Spot)
In Final Fantasy Resonance, Cactuar award 220 Mastery Rank Points (MRP) upon being defeated, which makes them a brilliant target for quickly leveling up your Visions. There is one spot in particular where Cactuar can be found, though they are a rare encounter. However, this spot is small, so it can be used to farm multiple Cactuar encounters in repetition quite easily.
The spot where you can find Cactuar is available from Chapter 4 and can be found in a tiny stretch of desert at the southern end of the Zoldaad Empire Territory, down past the Weapons Factory and Temple of Y'shtola.
The exact location has been marked on the map screenshot below:
The exact area is in the tiny stretch of sandy desert, down past the lava-like terrain. You'll know you're in the right spot because you'll also be able to see a small group of cacti peeking out, as seen in the screenshot below:
You may not encounter a Cactuar on your first attempt, or during every encounter. This is because it is considered a rare encounter. Still, though, as long as you keep at it, you'll eventually come across one (and more the longer you stick around) Cactuar for an easy MRP boost.
Tips for Beating Cactuar to Farm Easy MRP
The main hurdle when it comes to beating Cactuar in combat is that this creature has high evasion, meaning it will likely dodge a lot of your basic attacks.
You can somewhat work around this by utilizing moves that are guaranteed to hit, moves with multiple attacks/chances to hit, and buffs that increase your crit rate and stagger numbers (Nichol is brilliant for this).
This means characters such as Lasswell are even more beneficial for helping MRP farm though Cactuar, as he has lots of stagger potential. If you're looking for a good option, our early game build for Lasswell focuses on maximizing stagger, so it may come in handy.
Noctis is also brilliant, as his Barrage ability is guaranteed to hit the enemy and is a multi-attack with 4 strikes.
After defeating a Cactua, you will gain 220 MRP. However, you can also further boost the amount of MRP you receive from 220 to 286 by ensuring you finish with a Stagger Finish Bonus.
By carving out a little bit of time to grind these encounters, you can farm levels with targeted Visions much easier, which is a reliable strategy to fall back on if you're trying to optimize your build ahead of your next big encounter.
