Updated 4 min read

In Moonlight Peaks, you get to encounter not only supernatural residents but also some unique items in your farming and adventuring journey. One of these items is the highly coveted Golden Egg, which is a rare animal product that can be collected in barns. They seem to be worth a lot and very rare to find in-game.

But if you're wondering how to collect the Golden Egg, well, we have everything you need to know right here with our guide on how to get the Golden Egg in Moonlight Peaks and who to gift it to in-game.

How to Get the Golden Egg in Moonlight Peaks?

To get Golden Eggs in Moonlight Peaks, you're first going to need a Barn. A barn is where you can host some spooky animals to give you additional resources for the game. The animal products spooky animals produce are used in food recipes, beverages, and more.

You can unlock the Barn in one of the early quests of Moonlight Peaks. This would be the "Farm Animals for Sale" quest related to Luna, and you'll be tasked with building a Barn by purchasing it from Ridge at the Howling Hammer. After that, you can buy animals to add to your barn. The Barn costs 4,000 Coins.

Once you buy your Barn, you can then purchase Cheekens. Cheekens are the only animal in Moonlight Peaks that produces eggs and can give you the Golden Eggs you're looking for. Cheekens are sold by Luna's Farm for 1,200 Coins. In total, you need at least 5,200 Coins. If you want two Cheekens, you need to have 6,200 Coins. It's better to invest in at least two Cheekens early on so there are more chances of them producing a Golden Egg.

After having your Barn built and adding your Cheekens, you can then start caring for your Cheekens. Mainly, you'll have to give them Fodder, which is made by adding Fiber to the Refiner. 1 Fiber creates 2 Fodder, so stocking up on Fiber is crucial, especially if you decide to add more Barns in the near future and, of course, so you won't have to regularly refill the trough in the Barn.

Aside from feeding your Cheekens, also interact with them by petting them, giving them a hat, or talking to them in your Hellkitten form. You'll get to learn more about your Cheekens and increase your friendship status with them too.

You'll then notice that every night, the Cheeks will lay eggs inside the barn. These are usually colored Pink eggs. But you'll eventually come across a day when they'll lay Golden Eggs. It's crucial to check your Barn every day, so you don't miss the chance of grabbing a Golden Egg.

What are Golden Eggs Used For?

Golden Eggs are primarily used for gifting to the Town residents in Moonlight Peaks, especially if you want to raise your friendship and start romancing a specific resident. Besides that, Golden Eggs can also appear as a requested item on the Job Board, giving you another reason to stock up on these.

Other than that, you can sell Golden Eggs to Chester for 85 Coins. You can also use them in recipes, but don't go too crazy using them all at once. Lastly, you can eat Golden Eggs to regain 10 Energy.

Who to Gift the Golden Eggs to in Moonlight Peaks?

As mentioned earlier, Golden Eggs are very useful in gifting to build better relationships with the townsfolk in Moonlight Peaks. They're mainly a great Loved Gift for a couple of residents, but others may only Like it or be Neutral towards the Golden Egg. Here is our list of which characters Love, Like, and are Neutral towards the Golden Egg in Moonlight Peaks:

  • Loves Golden Eggs - Alina, Aras, Dragan, Fiona, Jada, Kim, Llemi, Ludo, Luna, Moon Goddess, Noel, Persephone, Rei, Ridge, Saga, Sun God, Tae, Winston.
