Mortal Shell 2: All Seal Locations & Which Is Best

Here's everything you need to know about Seals in Mortal Shell 2.

Updated 3 min read

In Mortal Shell 2, you'll have a wide variety of options in terms of combat styles, allowing the game to truly feel tailored to you, whether you're a fast-paced dodger or a cautious block-and-parry specialist.

Most Souls games tend to force the players to engage with one style, but thanks to the Seals present in MS2, you can play how you choose.

These can all be obtained very early in the game and can make a massive difference in your overall experience. So, if you want the skinny on what these seals do and which is best, let me help you out.

Untarnished Seal

Location: Obtained at start of the game

Description: Block attacks with your weapon, and time perfect guards to deal break damage.

The Untarnished Seal is the seal you'll want to go for if you are a traditional Souls player. As this feels the most like Dark Souls. Allowing players to hide behind their weapon with their own respective break bar. While also being able to time blocks like parries to deal break damage for a riposte.

Vatra's Seal

Location: Obtained during tutorial segment leading to Marrow Keep

Description: Harden your body to withstand the next attack. Time this right and this will deal break damage.

This is a slight variation on the Untarnished Seal, and in my eyes, the definitive way to experience Mortal Shell 2, as this is the mechanic that defined the original game in the series. Allowing you to withstand any single attack by making yourself completely invulnerable.

The downside is that you can't hide behind your weapon for multiple attacks and play super cautiously. But, you also don't have to worry about getting staggered, which is a real bonus.

Infinite Seal

Location: Obtained From Genesha in Marrow Keep

Description: Parry incoming attacks, breaking enemies much more effectively than other Seals.

The high-risk, high-reward Seal. The one that feels a little like Sekiro in many ways. As you have no way to shield yourself. You either time your parry to perfection, or take the hit. It's as simple as that.

The upside, however, is that you'll break enemies much faster and land more devastating blows. It requires skill and precision, but if you can handle that pressure, the rewards are great.

Slayer Seal

Location: On the throne near Merrick's Shop

Description: Ranged weapons deal break damage, ripostes restore health and resolve, and you gain access to a charged dash attack that deals break damage and automatically ripostes.

The Slayer Seal is effectively Mortal Shell 2's easy mode. Plain and simple. Enemies will break much more easily. You will have access to special moves that can close the gap and massacre enemies with ease, and you'll also have healing properties outside of your Mether's Pulse.

It's a cheat code, but do note that if you end up using it, all in-game achievements will be disabled. If you want those accolades, you'll need to do it the hard way.
