Palworld: How To Enable And Play Crossplay

Palworld developers Pocketpair recently celebrated surpassing 40 million players across its platforms ahead of its 1.0 release. Whether you’re playing this open-world creature-collecting game on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, you’re most likely playing with a friend or two. There’s nothing wrong with playing solo, but did you know that Palworld supports crossplay?

This means that if you have Palworld on Steam but your friend bought it on their PS5, you can both still play together on the same world! Unfortunately, this isn’t on by default and requires a bit of finessing when opening your world for multiplayer. If you’re itching to start a new Palworld save with the 1.0 release, but you want crossplay enabled, we’ll help you figure that out.

How To Enable Crossplay In Palworld

You can turn on crossplay in your Palworld game by selecting your world from the main menu and going to ‘Change World Settings'.
From there, scroll down until you see the crossplay setting (it’s under the multiplayer option). You can also just create a new world, and these options will immediately pop up.

Here, you can toggle crossplay on and off, and this will enable players on other consoles to join your world. Make sure multiplayer is also turned on, or else no one can join your world, no matter which platform they’re using.

How To Join A Crossplay World

To get your friends to join your Palworld game on other consoles, you’ll need to use an invite code. Enter your multiplayer world and go to the ‘Options’ tab in your menu to find the invite code.

You should now see an invite code that you can copy and paste to share with your friends. Once your friend gets that code, they can input it when choosing to join a multiplayer game in Palworld’s main menu. 

With the big 1.0 release, you should also make sure that your friends have updated their game. You will likely not be able to play a multiplayer world together unless you’re all on the same updated version of Palworld.
