Palworld: How to Farm Easy Pal Captures with Daedream

The easiest way to capture Pals in Palworld 1.0 is with this Daedream hack, never accidentally kill a Pal again!

Updated 3 min read

Are you having trouble judging how much damage a Pal can endure before inevitably collapsing? It's very hard to visualise whether your power is high enough to completely one-shot a Pal; this issue becomes more of an annoyance when backtracking to find earlier and weaker Pals.

Players are likely to encounter Pals that are wildly underlevelled in comparison to their progress when they are searching for new additions to their Paldeck in locations they have already conquered, or simply to obtain the 5-capture bonus, which yields bonus experience and gifts the player a Mimog Effigy. Mimog Effigies can be cashed in at a Statue of Power to grant the player character a stacking movement speed bonus, depending on how many Mimog Effigies are offered up.

These are just two reasons why a player might encounter trouble when trying to capture Pals that faint with a single tap of a spear or bolt of a crossbow. But what if I told you there is an easy fix to the problem?

How to Find Daedream

This devilish-looking Pal only shows its face at nighttime and spawns very frequently in the starting areas. You shouldn't have too much of a hard time finding them. They can be found floating around up to mischief, distinguished by bright pink and purple hair that cascades past her feet, small blue horns, and big floppy ears that protrude horizontally.

How to Capture Pals Easily With Daedream

Prior to Palworld's 1.0 update, players had to construct a Pal Gear Workbench and gather materials to assemble Daedream's Necklace in order to access their Pal Partner Skill. However, Daedream has broken free of her restraints with Palworld's ascension out of Early Access.

Daedream's Partner Skill, Dream Chaser, allows them to consistently hover around the player as an extra companion, in addition to any other Pals you might have currently summoned. Daedream executes a follow-up attack each time you inflict damage to a Pal, which is an extremely helpful tool to have.

But here's the important passive that Palworld 1.0 bestows on Daedream: Mercy Kill - Daedream's follow-up attacks will NEVER reduce the target's health below 1, allowing for easy captures.

Wait - there's more! You can have MULTIPLE Daedreams in your party that repeat the follow-up attack again. Each time you attack an enemy, you can have up to 5 Daedream Pals deviously lying in wait to spread their strife across the land.

As long as your initial weapon hit doesn't cause the wild Pal an early demise, this is a crazy strategy to instantly whittle down healthbars to the optimal threshold needed for maximum capture probability. You can traverse unknown lands and face untold dangers with nothing but your Daedream army and a heap of Pal Spheres.

If you want to have a further safety net and be double sure that you're not going to eliminate an elusive Pal that you want to get your hands on, you can also craft a Ring of Mercy.

Alternatively, you can wait until you reach Level 18 in the Technology Tree and unlock the Ring of Mercy with Ancient Technology Points. However, Daedream has a free built-in Ring of Mercy, meaning that it's an amazing idea to keep her in your party to save you from wasting your coveted resources, especially Ancient Civilization Parts.

The ring will also occupy an accessory slot, which are few and far between, and you'll often find that you want to replace it - just another reason to keep your Daedream army fed and watered.
