Palworld: How to Get Every Seed & Build the Best Farming System

Do you want to be the best farmer that the Palpagos Islands has ever seen? Yes, Stardew Valley fans, I'm looking at you. Well, you should start by knowing how to acquire all the seeds in Palworld 1.0. The number of Seeds to collect now totals 7, which simultaneously introduces a plethora of new cooking and food options.

Managing both yours and your Pals' hunger bars in Palworld can become pretty tiresome; the last thing you want to be doing is worrying about food when you should be fighting powerful foes, exploring new lands, or building the prettiest base. So let's go through how to obtain each seed and create the best farming system that ensures you can live your Palworld life to the fullest.

How to Get Berry Seeds in Palworld

As the earliest seed you'll come across, there's almost no way that you'll miss Berry Seeds in the starting area. You'll also find many bushes that generously provide you with Berries for easy sustenance to replenish your hunger bar.

Gumoss is one of the first 5 Pals that you'll likely spot; capture him a few times, and you'll acquire some Berry Seeds to begin your farming journey. Here are all the Pals that drop Berry Seeds upon capture or kill:

Gumoss

Clovee

Ribbuny

Clovee is the next Pal you'll come across, who also happens to increase the Gathering work suitability of other Pals in the base by 1; they usually reside just past the first quest giver and through the gates leading to an open lake directly in front of you, near Zoey's Boss Tower. As a result, Clovee is incredibly helpful in boosting your base efficiency in the early game.

After reaching level 5, the Berry Plantation will be unlockable in the technology tree - you'll only need 3 Berry Seeds, 10 Wood, and 10 Stone to begin its construction.

Since this is your first farm, make sure you place Pals in your base who are proficient in Planting, Watering, and Gathering; otherwise, your Berry Plantation will stall or lose automation - we want to be churning out Berries so we never have to worry about hunger!

How to Get Wheat Seeds in Palworld

The next crop that you'll encounter is Wheat! Purely based on the direction you choose to head, your quickest path to Wheat Seeds could be a selection of Pals which inhabit the main starter island:

Lifmunk

Herbil

Hangyu

Souffline

Lifmunk, Herbil, and Hangyu all have a good chance to spawn in different areas in the immediate vicinity of Zoey, the first tower boss. I would recommend having a quick search around, as Lifmunk has an incredibly versatile work suitability and acts as a great anchor to cover all areas in your home. Souffline is most certainly not a viable candidate for your first Wheat Seeds, as they are only found on Sunreach, the newly added floating islands which you'll only reach in the late game.

If you aren't able to farm Wheat Seeds after a few tries, you could opt to purchase them from the Wandering Merchant in the nearby Small Settlement, which the main story mission directs you towards. You'll find the Wandering Merchant at the far end of the settlement, directly behind the main quest contact.

You'll find Berry Seeds on offer for 10 Gold a piece, and Wheat Seeds costing you 20 Gold per unit.

Unlockable at level 15 in the technology tree, the Wheat Plantation provides a direct path to an incredible amount of more advanced cooking recipes, with Bread being the simplest to farm. With slightly higher crafting requirements than your first farm, the Wheat Plantation requires 3 Wheat Seeds, 15 Wood, and 15 Stone - but once again, it's an extremely worthwhile investment.

How to Get Tomato Seeds in Palworld

It's time to introduce our next seed, the lovely Tomato. Tomatoes are acquired a small while after the first starter island, although high-level Dinossoms are known to roam the introductory areas. If you're feeling particularly headstrong, maybe give them a tussle and try your luck for some early Tomato Seeds. Here are all the Pals to look out for if you want to get your hands on some naturally sourced seeds:

Bristla

Cinnamoth

Vaelet

Dinossom

Dinossom Lux

Braloha

You should keep your eyes peeled for Vaelet in particular, as they have a Ranching passive which is pretty overpowered for the early game - placing them in the Ranch will produce random seeds over time, granting you the chance to obtain higher value seeds earlier on in the game. But bear in mind that you will still need to unlock the corresponding Plantation in the technology tree before you can actually farm the seed.

Bristla and Cinammoth are likely to be your first two realistic captures, residing in the Moonless Shore - the second area if you're travelling straight north.

Alternatively, you can seek out the Wandering Merchants at Fisherman's Point and Duneshelter who conveniently sell Tomato and Lettuce Seeds. You can find our red-coated friend in the main square, close to the fast travel point at Fisherman's Point.

As is the case with all the seeds, you'll need to unlock the Tomato Plantation at level 21 in the technology tree before you can start to grow the juicy vegetable. The Tomato Plantation is the first to require Aquatic Pal Fluids in its construction, which can be obtained by defeating or capturing Water Pals, purchasing them from a Wandering Merchant for 300 Gold a piece, or assigning Kelpsea to produce them for free at your Ranch.

You'll need to depart with 3 Tomato Seeds, 70 Wood, 50 Stone, and 5 Aquatic Pal Fluids to begin its construction - then you're halfway there to officially cooking Salads that are sure to keep both you and your hard-working Pals nourished.

How to Get Lettuce Seeds in Palworld

As the second Salad component, Lettuce Seeds are the last piece to the puzzle that we're searching for. The Pals that drop Lettuce Seeds upon capture or defeat have a significant amount of overlap with Tomato Seeds, so you can kill two birds with one stone - so to speak. Here are all the Pals that drop Lettuce Seeds:

Cinnamoth

Flopie

Dinossom

Braloha

Stressing her importance for the previous set of seeds also, Cinnamoth is definitely outdoing itself with farming value - you should definitely keep a keen eye peeled for the orange and white flying moth. During my playthrough, I actually found Flopie in a Syndicate camp, and I was able to receive Lettuce Seeds as I freed her from the cage.

The worst Pal on this list to target is definitely Braloha, as they are usually higher-levelled and frequent much farther away areas. However, you should definitely aim to give Braloha a permanent residence in your base, as they have 5 Planting and Gathering, which is amazing work suitability for farming.

Referencing back to the previous Tomato Seeds section, Lettuce Seeds are also sold by Wandering Merchants in Fisherman's Point and Duneshelter. You'll find the vendor in the main area after entering the huge colourful castle-like structure in the middle of the bare desert on the east side of the map.

The Lettuce Plantation is available to unlock in the technology tree after reaching level 25, and can be constructed with the prerequisite cost of 3 Lettuce Seeds, 100 Wood, 70 Stone, and 10 Pal Fluids.

How to Get Potato Seeds in Palworld

POTATO! Do you like them fried, baked, or mashed? You can nicely ask the following Pals:

Robinquill

Robinquill Terra

Petallia

Here's where stuff starts to get serious, because all the Pals that drop Potato Seeds are decently strong, especially if you're trying to rush through the zones to grab all the different seed types as fast as possible. But if you manage to successfully capture Robinquill or Petallia, they both have amazingly versatile stats to help your base productivity.

Unfortunately, there are no vendors that sell Potato Seeds, as far as we know, so you'll have to rely on Pal Hunting as your only way of obtaining the new crop. But don't worry, we'll tell you exactly where to find the Potato-hoarding Pals.

Robinquill can be found primarily in the Mossanda Forest, where the map is shaded orange, which isn't too far away from the spawn area. But Robinquill packs a punch, so be careful!

Petallia can be found in Mount Flopie; you won't have much trouble finding her, as she easily catches the eye as one of the prettiest Pals.

Once again, you will need to construct the relative farming plot to actually start growing your own Potatoes. The Potato Plantation hides behind the level 29 technology tree unlocks; you'll need 3 Potato Seeds, 30 Wood, 20 Stone, and 3 Aquatic Pal Fluids to start your farming fun.

How to Get Carrot Seeds in Palworld

In contrast to Potato Seeds, Carrot Seeds are dropped more plentifully by a variety of Pals.

Our cute and cozy farming adventure is slowly becoming more treacherous, as most of these Pals can be pretty formidable foes in battle and appear at much higher levels than the earlier Pals. Sadly, Potato Seeds have passed on their unsellable trait, as Carrot Seeds also do not appear in Trader or Merchant inventories, meaning we'll have to acquire the seeds ourselves - how archaic.

Ribbuny Botan undoubtedly holds the title as the easiest Pal to hunt down for Carrot Seeds, as their habitat is very close to the spawn area and covers relatively low-level areas. Just make sure you say thank you to the cute bunny for stealing their prized possession.

Mossanda is also another great option for your first Carrot Seeds. They reside in the Mossanda Forest - who could have guessed? Again, another close-to-spawn tiny expedition for you and your Pals to set out on.

As our final more feasible option, you can find Palumba in the grassy Oasis-type areas across the eastern deserts, which also happens to be home to the Dinnosom Lux. Depending on the direction of your exploration, this might be the more natural option for you.

If you've managed to beat all odds and not acquire a single Carrot Seed in your travels, some later game Pals also handily drop the elusive seed. Regardless, you should aim to capture most of these Pals as they provide amazing Planting and Gathering work efficiencies to improve your farming process.

Wumpo Botan can be found as an Alpha Pal or grazing across Sakurajima Island, which is home to pretty high-level and dangerous Pals.

Additionally, Prunelia also drops Carrot Seeds and resides on Feybreak Island, which most players will recognise as a more advanced island that you need to be aptly prepared for - but she's very pretty, which makes the journey incredibly worth it.

The Carrot Plantation can be unlocked in the technology tree after reaching level 32; its construction requirements are 3 Carrot Seeds, 30 Wood, 20 Stone, and 1 Aquatic Pal Fluid.

How to Get Onion Seeds in Palworld

Moving on to our final seed unlock, Onion Seeds! Only three Pals drop Onion Seeds.

Vaelet

Palumba

Broncherry

As explained above, Palumba resides in the small grassy areas across the desert and can be a good early catch depending on the direction you have chosen to explore in.

As far as the largest habitat goes, Broncherry's spawn area is definitely the most dense across the Palpagos Islands - which would give you the impression that they are incredibly easy to catch. However, Broncherry often spawns at a much higher level relative to their spawn area, rendering them a decently elevated power rating with a lower probability of securing them in a Pal Sphere. If you do manage to catch one early on, make sure you whack them in your base for crazy Planting stats.

Vaelet is our final Pal who drops Onion Seeds, and can very easily be your quickest ticket to obtaining Onions for your base. Vaelet resides in the No.1 Wildlife Sanctuary, governed by a powerful ancient patrol Drone and a Grizzbolt Alpha Pal. If you're feeling adventurous, you can hop on a strong swimming or flying mount, evade the Drone's sight, and quickly steal a Vaelet before swiftly dipping. Vaelet also has a handy cheat code for farming, which will be discussed later on.

The Onion Plantation can be unlocked from the technology tree upon reaching level 36, and requires 3 Onion Seeds, 30 Wood, 20 Stone, and 2 Aquatic Pal Fluids to begin the construction.

Place Vaelet in The Ranch For Free Seeds

Now that we've discussed how and where to obtain each type of seed to create a plantation for your base ... what if none of that mattered? There's a cheat code that saves you having to hunt down Pals for seeds - instead, you'll get different seed types transported directly to your chests.

Introducing Vaelet - Voice of the Violets. A peaceful flying beetle with a green hat and a huge purple flower on its back- what more could you want? Vaelet has amazing work efficiencies and is a great choice to put to work in your base. Vaelet has a unique Ranching ability, which allows them to drop random seeds when placed in a Ranch. As a result, if you invade the No.1 Wildlife Sanctuary as quickly as you can, steal a Vaelet and place them in your Ranch, you'll have a high chance of obtaining all the seeds over a period of time without having to hunt down specific Pals.

How to Build The Best Farming System in Palworld

Ensuring an efficient farm and a consistent source of food really does make your Palworld journey a hell of a lot easier. If you lay strong foundations early on and exert enough effort to set up your base properly, you'll never need to look at hunger bars ever again.

Make a Farming-Only Base

I would recommend constructing a second or third base that is dedicated entirely to farming; the whole crop-growing process can be sped up exponentially, and it can be super annoying having to juggle all the different Pal working suitabilities in only one base. The sooner you can set aside time to make this base, the better.

Here are all the different components to include:

• Pal Box
• Feed Box - to feed your Pals
• Crop Plantations - place at least 1 of every type to maximise cooking combinations, but you can place 2 or even 3 of each type depending on how much food you want to make
• Planting, Gathering, and Watering Pals - you need all three to automate the entire process; try to balance the work suitabilities among all three - you might also want to assign a Pal to only transport, so that your crops can be placed in chests.
• Pal Monitoring Stand - essential to stop your Pals from performing other activities; edit their Work Preferences to only include Planting, Gathering, and Watering.
• Pals Beds - to match the amount of Pals in your base
• 1 or 2 Hot Springs - to keep your Pals happy
• Medicine Rack - keep it stocked with different Medicine so that Pals can help themselves if they fall ill
• Cooking Pot - it's best to produce all your meals here and then distribute them to your other bases manually; this will require 1 Pal who has Kindling proficiency
• Guild Chest - explained later on

Nice extras to have:

• Alpha Wave Generator - reduces the rate at which Pal sanity decreases
• Beta Wave Generator - increases the work speed of Pals

Best Pals for Food Production

The 'best' Pals for placing in your farming base is very subjective, as it correlates to your progress and game stage that you're at. Realistically, you're not going to be obtaining a Dandilord at level 20. The following list considers the best Planting, Gathering, Watering, and Transporting Pals, with a mixture of lower and higher level options.

Dandilord	Planting 8 Gathering 5 Transporting 3 A very late game Pal but by far the best and very versatile.
Lyleen	Planting 7 Gathering 6 Found on Sakurajima Island, awesome for crop farming.
Ophydia	Planting 7 Watering 5 Sunreach Alpha Pal, covers both planting AND watering.
Prunelia	Planting 3 Gathering 2 Transporting 1 Not the best stats, but her Partner Skill blesses your crops, increasing their harvest.
Carnibora	Planting 6 Gathering 4 Transporting 2 Found on Feybreak Island, great stats.
Jormuntide	Watering 7 Found as an Alpha Pal.
Ghangler	Watering 5 Transporting 2 Can be found by the Volcanoes or on Feybreak Island.
Verdash	Planting 4 Gathering 5 Transporting 3 Great all rounder, hits multiple areas.
Broncherry	Planting 5 A great choice to be your main planter.
Braloha	Planting 5 Gathering 5 Relatively early on, and has great stats.
Skutlass	Watering 4 Gathering 1 A great early game option for a better watering Pal.
Petallia	Planting 5 Gathering 3 Transporting 2 Amazing early game option to hit multiple areas.

Of course, you could go to the new World Tree area and find lots of new Pals that you'd rather have in your base - but you'll need to get your farm started wayyyy before you reach the endgame.

Guild Chest Food Trick

The Guild Chest Food Trick isn't necessarily essential for your farming base, but it makes your life a whole lot easier. A whole base dedicated to crops will inevitably lead to an excess of food items ... which all have an expiry date. But here's the good news - placing food into a Guild Chest actually removes the expiration timer!

Force your Pals to place the harvested crops in a Guild Chest, then come along every now and again to start cooking huge bulk orders of Minestrone or Salad to distribute among all of your bases. Check out our Guild Chest Trick Guide for more details.
