Palworld: How to Get Nightstar Sand

The number of Palworld's mysterious items with vague descriptions and little direction as to how to acquire them has increased pretty significantly in the 1.0 release.

It's such an annoying feeling to unlock a shiny new piece of equipment with your precious Ancient Technology Points, only to have no clue where to source the materials to fashion your new weapon of mass destruction.

Nightstar Sand is one such material that has appeared a few times in valuable crafting recipes. If you're wondering how to get your hands on this resource, our guide has you covered.

How to Get Nightstar Sand

While traversing the desert, I unknowingly found what I was looking for. Nightstar Sand can be identified by bright yellow spots that glow on the ground, almost like someone is shining a spotlight.

These spots will only glow at nighttime, so don't go hunting for Nightstar Sand when the sun is up, or else you'll have a pretty hard time accomplishing your mission. As it turns out, the item name 'NIGHTSTAR SAND' was a pretty big clue as to the material's whereabouts; it can only be found at night, on the sand, under the stars.

After locating the shiny goodness, simply walk up to it and interact with it while the moon is still up.

Best Nightstar Sand Farming Methods

If you're of a lower level, your best bet for finding Nightstar Sand is to seek out the vast expanse of desert to the northeast, as shown above. Since the entire island is sand, Nightstar Sand can spawn anywhere. Grab a flying mount or your fastest ground mount, follow the light, and enjoy the free farming simulator.

If you're a more experienced adventurer (level 50+), you could opt to farm in Feybreak Island. You can locate Feybreak Island in the South-West corner of the map, but you'll need a strong swimming or flying mount to cross the ocean. Whatever you do, don't try to swim yourself - this will likely just result in death.

There are lots of beaches and sandy shores that are blessed with Nightstar Sand when the sun goes down. If you head South-West along the shore from the Fast Travel point marked in the screenshot above, you'll find a huge stretch of sand that will yield you limitless amounts of Nightstar Sand.

Originally, Nightstar Sand was only available on Feybreak Island before Pocketpair expanded its spawn rates to appear globally. For die-hard Nightstar Sand fans, you could also consider setting up a temporary additional base on the shores and tasking nocturnal Pals with farming the special resources without you having to lift a finger. Granted, this would take some time to set up, but the passive income would save you a lot of time in the future.

Furthermore, after activating the first Fast Travel point once you cross the ocean, you'll find a Sparkle Seeking Wanderer overlooking your position further inland. The exact mission waypoint is displayed in the previous image, just south of my yellow player arrow. He will task you with retrieving 10 Nightstar Sands and delivering them to him. A handy mission in the vicinity of your material grinding is a nice cherry on top.

What Can Nightstar Sand Be Used For?

As the first piece of equipment that had me puzzled, the Air Dash Boots require 20 Nightstar Sand to construct. Here are some additional items that you'll need to hunt Nightstar Sand for:

• Beam Sword
• Advanced Bow
• Anti-Gravity Belt
• Various Other Boots (Double/Triple Jump + Double/Triple Dash)

It's definitely a good idea to stockpile Nightstar Sand should you happen to find yourself in the company of some.
