Palworld: How to Farm High Quality Pal Oil

High Quality Pal Oil can be easily farmed at specific locations, bought from Wandering Merchants, or continuously produced by a hard-working Dumud grazing in your Ranch.

Updated 3 min read

In Palworld 1.0, there are so many resources to farm and keep track of, both old and new. Whether you're farming Iron Ingots to craft metal tools, or gathering Wool to make yourself a week's supply of cloth, the grind literally doesn't stop. After unlocking Firearms through the technology tree, you'll start to need lots of High Quality Pal Oil as you progress to the stronger weapons.

Polymer is the main component that features in crafting recipes through the mid-to-late game, which requires 2 High Quality Pal Oils per unit. It's a good idea to start stockpiling early on so that you don't run into material shortages later on. Let's go through the best ways to farm High Quality Pal Oil in Palworld.

Let Dumud Graze in The Ranch

The best, easiest, and most reliable method for farming High Quality Pal Oil is to simply place Dumud or Dumud Gild in a Ranch. Dumud is a large, slow, and fish-like Pal who often looks petrified, with a pale underbelly and big protruding fins. But Dumud is your saviour, as they drop High Quality Pal oils when allowed to graze in the Ranch; or even better, Dumud Gild has an additional chance to drop Gold.

The Ranch is unlocked very early on in the technology tree at level 5, requiring wood, stone, and fiber to complete the construction. You should set up a Ranch as quickly as possible, as Palworld 1.0 makes the building more easily accessible and friendlier for lower-level bases. Start stockpiling as early as you can to propel your mid-game progression.

Hunt Pals That Drop High Quality Oil

After you've left your Dumud in the Ranch, there are more instantaneous ways to acquire High Quality Pal Oil. Here are all the Pals that drop this resource that we're craving:

  • Woolipop
  • Flambelle
  • Dumud
  • Digtoise
  • Mammorest
  • Grintale
  • Elphidran
  • Relaxaurus
  • Quivern
  • Elphidran Aqua
  • Jormuntide Ignis
  • Mammorest Cryest
  • Relaxaurus Lux
  • Quivern Botan
  • Xenogard
  • Eidrolon
  • Eidrolon Ignis
  • Loomen
  • Ophydia
  • Sibelyx Primo
  • Snock Lux
  • Solmora
  • Solmora Lux

While it's quite an exhaustive list, most of these Pals are relatively high-level and reside in pretty dangerous areas. The best early-game Pals to target for High Quality Pal Oil are definitely Dumud, Digtoise, Flambelle, Relaxaurus, Mammorest, and Woolipop. Luckily, there's a reasonably efficient area in the desert to farm Dumud and Digtoise simultaneously.

You can find this coveted location by searching for the Alpha Pal Anubis, who you will find near the center of the map and not too far away in dangerous, treacherous lands. Don't let Anubis' level 55 status scare you away; each Dumud and Digtoise Pal will likely range from levels in the early 30s to around 35,

with some of their weaker level 20-25 friends periodically spawning on the desert's outskirts. This farming location trumps the rest as these specific Pals tend to spawn in groups, providing you with endless opportunities to farm High Quality Pal Oil.

Buy High Quality Pal Oil From Merchants

If you're in urgent need of oil and you have Gold Coins to spare, you can purchase from Wandering Merchants at Fisherman's Point or Duneshelter, as pictured above. Duneshelter can be discovered by exploring the deserts towards the northeast; just look for the huge pink castle that sticks out like a sore thumb in the sandy dunes.

You might also find Wandering Merchants at other random locations if you're lucky enough; make sure you're always checking a trader's inventory, just in case.

Fisherman's Point is definitely the easier option and the more viable location to seek out for early game adventurers. You'll naturally come across this location if you're following the Main Mission storyline. Long red robes, a bright red hat, and a large rucksack distinguish these traders, making them incredibly hard to miss.

1 High Quality Pal Oil will set you back 300 gold per unit; it's handy for a one-time bulk buy, but not ideal for a permanent purchasing habit. You'll want to be saving your Gold Coins for other more lucrative items.

Good luck on your quest for precious High Quality Pal Oil; be wise about how you spend it, and make sure you stockpile oil for the mid-to-late game.
