Palworld: How to Stack Farms (Plantations, Ranches, Breeding Farms, & More)
Stack 'em and save space!
Your Palworld base may seem spacious at first, but you're going to run out of room sooner or later. To save space, you can stack plantations and farms on top of each other with a neat trick.
Normally, you'd need huge patches of open land to breed pals or grow huge batches of crops. With this Palworld stacking method, you can have berries, lettuce, tomatoes, and all of your veggies in an organized tower that doesn't affect output!
How to Stack Plantations in Palworld
To stack plantations in Palworld, you can take advantage of a quirk with the building system that lets you place plantations on top of small items like benches. To get started, create a foundation and build walls on three sides to create a frame for your farms.
Then, build a Wooden Bench in the center of the foundation. Use axis alignment mode by holding left control or RT/R2 to line it up exactly in the center of the foundation floor. Make sure it's sticking out toward you.
Use axis alignment mode while jumping to stack the benches on top of each other. You'll be able to place a plantation on the floor, then use the benches to add additional farms to the tower. Each bench gets you an extra layer. If you want three plantations, for example, you need two benches.
Once the benches are stacked, use axis alignment mode and place a plantation on top of the bench tower. Wait for it to be constructed, then disassemble the top bench.
Repeat this process and work your way down the tower until the benches are all gone. You may need to jump while holding axis alignment mode to get the plantations to snap to the benches.
You can also pull this trick off with Japanese Floor Cushions, unlocked at level 55 on the technology tree. With these, the process is much simpler. All you need to do is place a cushion in the middle of an empty plantation. Then, you can snap another plantation on top.
It can also be difficult to disassemble the bottom most bench, so crouch down and carefully angle your camera to avoid destroying a plantation layer.
How to Stack Breeding Farms and Ranches
Breeding Farms and Ranches can also be stacked in Palworld, but it requires a bunch of spare materials. These are much larger structures than plantations, so you'll still need a lot of space.
The overall process remains the same, however. Stack a bunch of big items — Large Containers are the best for this — and disassemble each layer to create space for new farms.
A Ranch can fit on a 2x5 grid of Large Containers, but you'll need to add more to accommodate a Breeding Farm. Build one layer of containers for each Ranch or Breeding Farm, then build the first farm on top. Wait for it to be fully constructed, then demolish the top container layer so you can place the next farm. This process will cost hundreds of Ingots, so make sure you've got some great Kindling Pals on hand!
You can use this tactic to stack anything in Palworld, so go reclaim some space in your base! Stacking Breeding Farms is also an excellent way to stock up on eggs and try to get Mutations.
