Palworld: All Ranching Pals & Their Drops

Become the best rancher in the Palpagos Islands.

Updated 5 min read

Gathering resources in Palworld can be incredibly time-consuming and tedious, especially when factoring in the crazy costs of some items. If only there were a way to automatically accumulate these resources without needing to waste time farming basic resources and backtracking...Look no further! The Pal Ranch is an unlockable facility that solves this problem.

Once the Ranch is finished, players often hold a common question: what Pals should I put in the Ranch? At first, the answer may seem simple - any Pal with the Ranching work type, right? Well, sure. But some Pals are much more valuable base workers than others purely because of the rare items they drop in the Pal Ranch. This guide walks you through every compatible Pal and their drops, as well as which items to prioritize farming through the ranching system in Palworld.

All Pals Compatible With the Pal Ranch & Their Drops

Introducing the Ranch, an early-game building unlocked in the technology tree at level 5 that will instantly become your best friend when you understand what it actually does.

To build the Ranch, you'll need to gather 50 Wood, 20 Stone, and 30 Fiber. Luckily, these materials are pretty common in the starting area and shouldn't cause you too much trouble.

Here is a complete list of every Pal that can be placed in the Ranch, as well as what items they will drop:

Best Items to Farm With the Pal Ranch

Despite knowing all the ranching possibilities, it's still difficult to predict what materials you're going to need for the future - so let's dive in a bit further. For starters, let's make a very important point clear.

If you really want to maximize farming, you should try to create a new base that is dedicated ENTIRELY for Ranching. Give your Pals a few beds, top up their feed box every so often, and let them do their thing. This is amazing preparation for the future, and will save you SO much time.

Alternatively, you can also try to save space by stacking ranches using a special placement technique where players place Japanese Pillow items to help snap facilities on top of one another.

In the early game, you'll want to shove a Lamball in your Ranch straightaway. Wool is a popular requirement for many items; it becomes very boring having to return to the spawn to spell demise to every existing Lamball. You'll need a consistent Wool income, specifically for the crafting of Cloth, which appears in a plethora of crafting recipes.

Afterwards, you'll probably acquire a Vixy pretty early on, who digs up helpful items for your journey, like Pal Spheres. If you want to push progression as fast as possible, you should aim to throw in Kelpsea, Flambelle, and Sparkit as fast as possible - as the Organs form the crafting basis of many essential buildings and items, preparing you for the mid-late game when you start to generate Electricity.

Aside from the Organs, you should instantly seek out a Dumud for High Quality Pal Oils, who is often found in the desert near Alpha Pal Anubis, and a Sibelyx for High Quality Cloth, who can be found as a level 40 Alpha Pal west of the Free Pal Alliance Tower or in the Astral Mountains.

During my playthrough, I found that you can easily forego Gold Coin drops, Bones, Mushrooms, Red Berries, and Seeds - simply because you can obtain them naturally throughout your travels or while opening Chests and defeating Pals.

Breeding Considerations

Most Palworld players will dabble in Breeding; it allows you to pass down helpful Traits and powerful Skills to offspring while also offering the chance to unlock higher-tier Pals without needing to catch them in insanely high-levelled zones.

If you want to be consistently Breeding, you will soon encounter the obscene Cake demand that is required for a successful Breeding process. Fortunately, there are a few Pals who will routinely provide you with the food items you desire for your sweet treats:

  • Beegarde (Honey)
  • Chikipi (Eggs)
  • Mozzarina (Milk)

Whack them in the ranch as quickly as you can to get a head start with your Pal parenting journey. You'll find Chikipi instantly as you load in, with Mozzarina and Beegarde appearing a little later on.

Best Ranchers for the Late Game

In the later game, you'll want to cater your Ranching Pals towards more high-level materials, as the need for Eggs, Wool, and Berries falls off pretty sharply. Here are the 5 materials you should prioritise for more advanced Palworlding:

  • Electric Organ - Bio Batteries for electricity, higher-level workbenches, buildings, and weapons
  • Flame Organ - Buildings, cooking, Pal accessories, weapons, armour
  • Ice Organ - Cryogenic Coolant for armour, weapons, and Pal accessories
  • High Quality Pal Oil - Polymers needed for weapons, buildings, and Pal accessories + food
  • High Quality Cloth - Cold/heat resistant armour, High Quality Wooden Boards

As such, you'll want to place your Sparkit in the Ranch for Electric Organs, with a Flambelle, Kelpsea Ignis, or Rooby for Fire Organs. Cover your Ice Organs with Foxicle or Mau Cryst, and produce easy High Quality Cloth and Pal Oil with Sibelyx and Dumud Gild.

High Tier Upgrades Require Electric Organs

The Plasma Multicutter is a high-level tool that is required to mine late-game ores in distant lands. As per the crafting requirements, Bio Batteries and Cryogenic Coolant are heavily relied upon, with both demanding Electric Organs, Ice Organs, and Aquatic Pal Fluids.

Another popular and sought-after high-level weapon is the coveted Laser Rifle, which again boasts a heavy reliance on Electric Organs to craft its components. When combined with other essential electrical items, you'll quickly find yourself running out. You'll also need to craft Energy Cartridge ammunition with additional Electric Organs; if you've been wielding a firearm in Palworld, you'll know firsthand how quickly you can run through hundreds of bullets.

It's an amazing strategy to throw a Sparkit into your Ranch in the early-mid game to stockpile your Electric Organs for the future; you'll be thanking your lucky stars later on. I definitely ran out of Electric Organs quickly as I didn't realise just how important electrical components were later on in the game.

Overall, each player will likely struggle with a different resource, depending on their particular playthrough and their individual playstyle. Players who are slow to level up will likely stockpile more resources, which fast-levelling players would rely on the Ranch for. Check out our guide to Obtaining Experience Points Fast if you want to reach the higher-level Pals faster.

Remember to choose your own pace and utilise the Ranch to obtain materials that you would otherwise have to spend ages farming.
