Star Wars Zero Company: Soldier Class Guide - Playstyle, Best Combinations, & More
Become the ultimate Soldier.
There are a total of eight specializations to choose from in Star Wars Zero Company. One of them is the Soldier spec class, which brings some of the best offensive capabilities on the battlefield, thanks to close to medium-range abilities and a rocket launcher for long-distance attacks.
This class will be the default Spec for Trick, but you can switch it or add it to any other Operators if it suits your playstyle. If you are looking to create the ultimate Soldier in Zero Company, then this guide will help you achieve the best Soldier build.
Soldier Specialization, Explained
The Soldier will be your main offensive Operator, excelling in every type of range: close, medium, and long. For close range, there's the Brutal Strike melee ability, while at the same time being able to take out various enemies from afar with the Rocket Launcher.
The passive abilities of the Soldier Spec further reinforce its weapons and melee damage, so don't be afraid to have the Soldier on the front lines. In combat is where the Soldier shines, and where it will be more useful.
Soldier Class Abilities
| Ability | Type | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Rocket Strike | Ultimate | Fire a powerful rocket that explodes on impact, damaging all targets in the blast. |
| Brutal Strike | Standard | Rush and strike a target, dealing Melee Damage and Dazing. |
| Strength | Passive | Increases Melee Damage by +2 and increases the throw range of all Grenades by +2.0m. |
| Armsmaster | Passive | Increases Blaster Damage and Grenade Damage by +2. |
How to Play the Soldier Class in Star Wars Zero Company
Since the Soldier will be where the fight is, make sure to use its turns offensively to take advantage of the Soldier's extra damage Passive effects.
For its first AP turn, use the Brutal Strike ability instead of the standard movement. That way, you get close to the enemy while also dealing damage in the same turn. Use your remaining AP to fire your Blaster and explosives.
In your utilities, make sure to equip a grenade since that bonus damage also counts towards grenades. As soon as you have the Advantage Points, use the Rocket Strike ability, but make sure to save that shot for when there's a group of enemies close together.
Best Build Combination for Soldier
Best Talent
One of the ways that you can make your Soldier more powerful is by combining it with a good Talent. Talents are additional perks that each Operator can add to their arsenal. While recruited Operators' Talents can be switched, the main Companions have a locked, specific Talent.
Our recommendation is to use Trick as your Soldier. Trick's For My Brothers Talent allows him to auto-revive once per mission. This Talent is the perfect combination for the Soldier's aggressive playstyle.
If you are using Trick for another role, then an Operator with Sabotage will further improve the demolition chaos a Soldier can do by detonating objects on the battlefield. If your Soldier is struggling in the HP area, then Fortitude will be a better option, which grants defense and ignores injury penalties.
Best Secondary Specialization
As mentioned, since the Soldier is an aggressive class, our recommendation for secondary Spec will be Heavy. The Heavy class abilities go hand in hand with the Soldier's frontline elements.
The Unstoppable skill can be used before any of the Soldier's abilities to enhance the attacks. Use Bulwark to drive fire away from your allies into the Soldier, which, thanks to the Passive Heavy abilities, will be a tank of a Soldier.
| Ability | Type | Effects |
|---|---|---|
| Bulwark | Ultimate | Taunts all enemies in the target area, forcing them to attack this Operator; also increases Defense by +2 for the rest of this turn. |
| Unstoppable | Standard | Gain 2 Stacks of Retaliation; each stack permits a counter against the next incoming attack. |
| Conditioning | Passive | Increases this Operator's Max Health by +4. |
| Heavy Armor Training | Passive | Increases this Operator's Defense by +2. |
| Intimidating Posture | Passive | This Operator's primary Blaster Attacks Taunt the target on a hit. |
Best Weapon and Utilities for Soldier
The best weapon for the Soldier will be the Blaster Rifle, which gives a good balance of damage and shots per turn. If you are using Trick, however, then later in the story he will unlock a weapon that will make this Soldier kit even more powerful.
For the Utilities, as mentioned before, make sure to have your Soldier equipped with a grenade. When you unlock additional utility slots, you can use those to improve your Soldier's defense with the Underlays.
