Star Wars Zero Company: How to Get Capacitors
Here's how to farm this rare Den upgrade resource in SWZC!
Capacitors are one of the rarest resources in Star Wars Zero Company, and they are needed for some of the most important upgrades you can build at The Den. Unlike Credits or Intel, there's no shop to buy them from and no repeatable stage where you can farm them.
Because of this, getting Capacitors matters just as much as how you spend them. So, to help you get them, this guide breaks down every confirmed way to get your hands on Capacitors, along with how to actually use them.
How to Get Capacitors in Star Wars Zero Company
There are three confirmed sources for Capacitors, namely from completing missions that list one as a reward, pushing specific Influence Zones to certain tiers, and picking the right branch during an Operation. None of these are things you can repeat indefinitely. Rather they are campaign moments that either give up a Capacitor or don't, which is why checking your options before committing to anything is a must.
From Mission Rewards
Missions are by far the best source for Capacitors in SWZC. Both story-critical missions and optional side missions can carry a Capacitor in their reward list, so it's worth resisting the urge to auto-select whatever mission is highlighted next without first seeing what else is on the board.
To check for a Capacitor reward:
- Open the Holotable back at The Den.
- Look through every currently available mission.
- Check each mission's Rewards section on its card.
- Look specifically for a Capacitor listed alongside Credits or Intel.
- If one shows up and you need Capacitors for an upgrade, prioritize that mission over the alternatives.
- Complete the mission to collect the reward.
Missions that reward a Capacitor tend to run a little tougher than average, but they're consistently one of the best sources of the Capacitors, so they're usually worth the extra difficulty.
From Zone Influence Rewards
Influence is easy to overlook as a Capacitor source since the payoff isn't tied to a single mission you complete. Rather you get them from pushing a region's Influence level up over time through missions, Operations, Contacts, and certain story choices. Once a Zone crosses a specific threshold, it unlocks a tier reward, and a couple of those tier rewards happen to be Capacitors.
NOTE: Boosting your overall Intel or Influence generation doesn't hand you Capacitors directly, but it does mean you can run more Operations and hit Influence tiers faster. This indirectly increases how many Capacitors you can get in the long run.
From Operations
Operations work similarly to missions because they can provide a Capacitor reward on completion, but with one key difference. They cost Intel to run, and you won't have enough Intel to launch every Operation available to you. That makes picking the right one matter more here than anywhere else on this list.
When looking through your available Operations, look for ones that explicitly list a Capacitor in the reward pool. If none are visible, keep an eye out for Operations flagging an "Unknown" reward. Depending on the Operation type and the choice you make partway through, these can turn out to be Capacitors.
If you want certainty before committing your Intel, saving beforehand and reloading if the outcome isn't what you needed is always an option. Several Operations are also structured as a choice between two branches, and picking the wrong one can permanently remove a Capacitor reward. So read the full outcome text on each branch rather than picking based on the description alone.
How to Use Capacitors in Star Wars Zero Company
Capacitors exist for one purpose: unlocking the higher-tier upgrades at The Den's Upgrade Facility. They sit alongside Credits as a cost on certain upgrades, but unlike Credits, you can't simply farm enough of them through normal play. Every Capacitor spent is one you had to specifically go and find.
That rarity is exactly why it pays to have a rough upgrade plan before you start spending. Some upgrades like the cosmetic Black Market improvements, for instance, aren't worth prioritizing early on, while others, like expanding your operators' weapon mod slots, provide a much bigger return on a limited resource.
TIP: Using Capacitors on a low-priority upgrade early can leave you short when a genuinely important one shows up later, so you should first check the full list of upgrades at the Den before using any Capacitors.
