Big Walk: How to Change Your Color & Appearance

In almost any fun co-op game, one of the smallest, yet most fun aspects involve the ability to customize your character. In some games this is through outfit or cosmetic selection, or facial features. In Big Walk, you can choose what color each body section of your silly little guy is.

However, when you first enter the spawn room and look around to test the controls and get a hang of things, it's not yet apparent how to change your color. Usually this is where this sort of thing happens, right? Well, not in Big Walk. But alas, this can be done once you know where to look. If you're wondering how to customize appearance and change the color of your character in Big Walk, this guide will, well, walk you through the process!

How to Change Color & Customize Your Appearance in Big Walk

If you want to change your color/appearance in Big Walk, well first you need to get walking! You'll need to leave the initial spawn room and start wandering into the first open area, which acts are the initial starting 'zone' for the game before progressing into much larger areas.

Make sure you grab a lantern to help light the way when it gets dark, and then from the spawn room tunnel exit, walk straight forward down the hill, and you will eventually notice a flare box. If you get separated from your buddies, you can use this flare box to send up a flare and let them know where you are. If everything works out, you'll be able to meet back up at the flare point and then keep on walkin' together.

Just beyond this flare point, there is room structure. You won't be able to get your hands on a map for a while in Big Walk, but just for reference, the room is located on the map area below. Basically, the easiest wa is to follow the river from the first spawn point until you stumble upon the right location.

The room should have the lights on by default, so you should be able to also spot it in the dark with no issues. Inside this room, there is a wall with a whole bunch of different color swatches. This is where you can change the color of your character.

However, you can't simply change your color yourself. Instead, you will need some help from a friend - much like many other activities in the game. Specifically, inside this room somewhere, there will be a paint brush item laying around.

If you want to change your appearance, you will need to have your friend pick up the paint brush, and then you will need to tell them the colors you want to use. While holding the paint brush, they can click on a color to change the paint to match, and then click on one of your three body sections to paint you.

Luckily, there is also a mirror in this room, so you can try on a few different looks until you find the right one. You can also return to this location at any point throughout your playthrough if you'd like to switch up your appearance - just remember to bring a buddy with you to help!
