Big Walk not only has a number of different activities and puzzles to solve along the progression of your journey, but also a series of hidden achievements and secrets around the big open map.
The Big Makeover achievement is just one of these many hidden secrets, with the steam information only giving players a hint that they need to "get shiny" in order to obtain it. How to Get Shiny in Big Walk & Earn the Big Makeover Achievement
In order to get shiny in Big Walk, players need to locate a hidden dressing room, similar to the one in the tutorial area in which you can use to change your player character colors. However, this room can be easily missed if you don't know where to look and is generally accessible after quite a bit of gameplay has occurred.
To find the room, you will need to unlock the tunnels. These tunnels become accessible once the yellow lighthouse has been completed. You will need to complete nearby puzzles to collect enough of the red egg/buoy-shaped prizes, stick them in the machine at the tower, and earn the key.
There is a tunnels entrance near every main color-coded tower, so you can approach the underground from several different points of the map. Some of these tower entrance locations have been included in the map screenshot below, to help give you a starting point for tracking down the shiny room.
You will need a light source to help you navigate the tunnels, so be sure to bring a flashlight or similar item for your underground exploration.
You will need to then find your way to the green and blue bridge. Cross this bridge into the red room with the staircase, and then instead of climbing the stairs, drop down onto the level below.
Here you will find the little studio / dressing room in which you can change your color and become shiny!
Much like the other dressing room, you will need to have a friend with you to apply your choice of color with the paint brush - you will not be able to apply the color swap yourself. Let your friend know which metallic color you'd like, and as soon as they apply the paint you'll earn the Big Makeover achievement for becoming shiny, easy as that!
