Mistfall Hunter: Best Seer Build
The best way to support your allies.
Mistfall Hunter scratches an itch that isn't often satisfied by other games; there's a certain adrenaline that hits while you're trying to grab the best loot at the risk of losing it all when other players inevitably hunt you down.
It's safe to say that you should be maximizing your build power if you want to protect your loot in the arena - you should start by knowing how to extract the most value from your class. Everything you'll need to know about how to play the Seer Class in Mistfall Hunter has been outlined in the guide below.
The Seer Class
Out of the 6 playable classes, the Seer definitely has the most supportive potential with numerous ways to heal and shield allies combined with multiple forms of crowd control to disrupt enemies on the battlefield.
The Seer class undoubtedly has the lowest damage factor and therefore isn't the best choice if you only venture out alone - you'll struggle to defeat higher-levelled enemies and usually cosplay as a sitting duck in solo PvP. Although there are a few playstyles that can dish out a decent amount of damage.
Best Seer Support Build
If you want to maximize your supportive powers, then here is your build:
Skills
Talents
As this talent tree is for a level 11 character, the final talent that you want to take is either Self Preservation under the Path of Ascetism tree for an extra shield, or Synergy in the Counter Rune tree for additional damage with your Punishment Rune.
| Skill | Description | Talents/Synergy |
|---|---|---|
| Punishment Rune | Acts as an auto-targetting turret that constantly at enemies until destroyed, this is your most consistent damage source. | Can take Synergy to increase the damage from your Punishment Rune if you have spare talent points. |
| Shelter Rune | A totem that provides AoE shielding to you and your allies, replenishes shields after a little while - try to hide it away from enemy line of sight. | Reshape - recovers shields if unattacked. Potent Sanctuary - increases shield strength. Fortified Guard - increases shield value provided by Shelter Rune. |
| Intimidation Rune (or Stealth Rune) Intimidation is my personal pick, but make sure you're taking Wind Surge if you opt for Stealth Rune as you need at least one way to get enemies off you. | Stealth Rune provides you and your team with Stealth, makes for some really good offensive and defensive plays - although you should have a premade group to make the most use of it. Intimidation Rune is an instant cast totem that knocks back players in the vicinity. It's an amazing defensive tool and can block off passageways - your best way to peel for yourself and way more reliable than Wind Surge. | Stealth Rune: Elation - recovers Psionic Energy per enemy blinded. Vision Plunder - enemies within a certain range are still blinded, regardless of if they're looking at the Rune. Intimidation Rune: Decelerate - enemies knocked back will have their movement speed reduced. |
| Psionic Shield | Holds 2 charges of a castable shields for you or your allies, works a lot more reliable in fights than heals due to cooldowns and limited charges. Psionic Shield can also be mega buffed with talents. | Potent Sanctuary - increases shield strength. Quick Chant - reduces chanting time of Psionic Shield. Retribution - refunds charge time after a shield dissipates based on the damage absorbed during its duration. |
| Death Ward (or Wind Surge) Take Wind Surge if you've dropped the Intimidation Rune. | Death Ward is extremely clutch to cast on a frontline fighter before they go down, you'll extend their life and 9 times out of 10 allow them to pick up an extra kill if they're already in close melee range as enemies will not expect a Death Ward. Wind Surge knocks back enemies that are close to you and inflicts a bit of damage - operates as a weaker and less reliable version of the Intimidation Rune. | OPTIONAL. Death Ward: Shelter - after Death Ward ends, the target gains a shield. Retention - increases the duration of Super Armour provided by Death Ward. Wind Surge: Powerful Wind - increases knockback of Wind Surge Propel - successfully casting Wind Surge increases your movement speed. |
As you can see from the talent list, there are 5 shielding talents that have some elements of crossover, meaning that your Shelter Rune and Psionic Shield are mega buffed. These 2 abilities are your most valuable, and you should be aiming to cast them as much as possible to keep your team alive.
The Seer is extremely vulnerable to being jumped on in PvP, meaning that you'll need to incorporate some survivability into your kit. For me, the Intimidation Rune is the most consistent way of throwing attackers off of you, combined with Decelerate, which slows them down afterwards. Wind Surge is less reliable as you have to aim it, which can be hard in a game where so many dashes exist.
Furthermore, you might want to take Self-Preservation in the Path of Asceticism tree, which grants you a shield each time you perform a Breakaway. A Breakaway is a quick dash that pops up upon being hit multiple times by an enemy in a combo.
Instead of Death Ward or Wind Surge, you could opt for the Blinding Rune, which can be incredibly helpful in fights. However, experienced players are likely to avoid the blindness effect. The Blinding Rune can provide you with Psionic Energy if you spec some of your talent points into it, but I find it's a heavy investment for little reliable payback.
Your Seer support gameplay consists of the following:
- Drop your Punishment Rune to whittle down the enemies' health / poke tool.
- Immediately cast your Shelter Rune to grant your allies shields in a safe space that the enemies cannot destroy.
- Cast your Psionic Shield immediately; do not sit on 2 charges.
- Save your Intimidation Rune for when the enemies dive you.
- Watch your allies' health bars and be ready to cast Death Ward when they are close to death.
- Spend all your spare auto-attacking to regenerate your Psionic Energy, which is consumed to cast your Runes.
Best DPS Seer Build - Reverent Subclass
Skills
Talents
As this talent tree is for a level 11 character, the final talent that you want to take is either Deceleration under the Counter Rune tree, or Self Preservation in the Path of Asceticism tree.
| Skill | Description | Talent/Synergy |
|---|---|---|
| Punishment Rune | Acts as an auto-targetting turret that constantly at enemies until destroyed, this is your most consistent damage source. | Synergy - the Punishment Rune executes a follow up attack to your attacks, increasing your damage output and granting further Psionic Energy. |
| Burst Rune | Burst Rune damages and staggers enemies in an AoE. It will also mark those enemies and any enemies you hit while firing through the Rune's field. After a short time, the marks detonate to deal extra damage. | Rune Vulnerability - if enemies enter the AoE multiple times, the mark damage increases. |
| Intimidation Rune | Intimidation Rune is an instant cast totem that knocks back players in the vicinity. It's an amazing defensive tool and can block off passageways - your best way to peel for yourself and way more reliable than Wind Surge. | If spare points, you can take Decelerate to reduce enemies' movement speed after getting knocked back. |
| Wind Surge | Wind Surge knocks back enemies that are close to you and inflicts a bit of damage - operates as a weaker and less reliable version of the Intimidation Rune, but leads to some good damage amplification with the right talents. | Opportunist Strike - enemies hit by Wind Surge can be stunned if hit with an enhanced orb during a short window of time. Powerful Wind - increases knockback distance. Propel - successful casting increases your movement speed. |
| Healing Art | A heal that holds multiple charges but has a partilarly long cooldown - works pretty well as a battle heal due to its short cast time. | Can take Deep Healing if extra points - increases your healing based on missing health. |
The Punishment Rune is your main form of DPS; you want to maximise its uptime by placing it in a relatively safe position that can still damage enemies. Your Synergy talent sends out additional attacks every auto attack you land on an enemy, significantly increasing your DPS.
Since your main weakness is enemies jumping on top of you, we’re investing in the Wind Surge combo. Hit an enemy with Wind Surge to knock them back and immediately charge an empowered Psionic Orb to stun them. You need to play around your Intimidation Rune and Wind Surge cooldowns to keep enemies off of you.
Your Burst Rune is your secondary form of damage; mark as many enemies as possible to take advantage of the burst damage.
You’ll want to take heals over shields as the quicker cast allows you to continue DPS’ing. You have lots of opportunities to quickly heal yourself while you’re pushing enemies away, which you cannot do with shields.
Albeit, the Reverence Seer still falls short in terms of damage when compared to other classes, but this build definitely bolsters your DPS output somewhat. You’re better off learning Blasphemer if you want to deal damage with the Seer class.
Best Blasphemer Seer Build
Skills
Talents
As this talent tree is only for a level 11 Blasphemer Seer, the last talent you'll want to take is Binding, under the Thorn Sigil Enhancement tree.
| Skill | Description | Talents/Synergy |
|---|---|---|
| Rune: Drain | Attack forwards and recover health based on the damage dealt, also reduce the target's attack damage for a short period of time. | |
| Rune: Corruption | Dash forward dealing damage in a wide area, reducing their healing for a short period. | - |
| Rune: Stun | Leap forward and damage enemies, inflicting Stunned to those hit. | Vault - increases dash distance. |
| Impact Sigil | Summon a sigil that knocks enemies towards you and deals damage. | Internal Injury - reduces healing and movement speed for enemies hit, locking them down easily. Mastery - recovers Curse Mana upon hitting enemies with Impact Sigil. |
| Thorn Sigil | Summon an AoE thorn circle that immobilizes enemies, dealing damage, and reducing their movement speed. | Binding - players have their dodge distance reduced while in Thorn Sigil |
Since the Blasphemer sub-class heavily relies on Curse Sigil to cast abilities, a heavier reliance than Reverent Seer with Psionic Energy, it's important that you obtain the most value with each cast and take talents that help you to regenerate your resource bar. Emergency Aid is a great place to start with Curse Mana gained after using Breakaway.
Aside from the abilities we've already mentioned, the Blasphemer Seer's most important ability is Zeal - their empowered battle state that enhances their normal attacks. You'll want to take multiple talents that buff it:
- Ferocity - gain Super Armor during Zeal with increased Magic and Physical Resistance.
- Relentless - dealing damage with a Mace increases Zeal's duration.
- Divine Power - attacks during Zeal grant Curse Mana.
Your main combo is to pull enemies close to you, lock them down with your Thorn Sigil, and unload on them with your Zeal and stun.
Overall, Reverent Seer is an incredibly supportive class that can also be specced for DPS, despite it not being the best choice. Blasphemer is a strictly melee DPS class, so it's understandable for players wanting to create another option for ranged damage enjoyers.
