Mistfall Hunter: Soul Harvesting Guide
May your soul return to the Web of Fate.
Mistfall Hunter has dropped its first new gameplay mechanic expansion since release, and it's pretty cool to say the least. The Soul Harvest operation launches alongside a new stage of the Fate Chart and a new enemy to fell. Players have yet another opportunity to grab valuable loot and eliminate players by drawing them out to the Soul Harvest.
What is the Soul Harvest?
Although exciting, don't expect to load into Hallowgrove or Brandrgarde and expect to see a bunch of changes, as the Soul Harvest operation only has a small chance to spawn at the beginning of the match.
Dew and the Gyldhunters are attempting to mend the Web of Fate, tasking the player with thwarting Velgr's attempts to create a False God. By eliminating mutated creatures warped by Soul Cocoons, delivering Soul Cocoons to a Fate Altar, and performing a prayer ritual, players will receive rewards for their whole team.
How to Activate the Soul Harvest
The Soul Harvest event only has a small chance to trigger at the very conception of a game, with the probability increasing as the match progresses and as the Gyldenmyst covers the land. There's nothing you can do to manually kickstart the operation; you'll just have to wait.
However, as the Gyldenmyst engulfs the Brandrgarde map quickly, the Soul Harvest likely has a higher chance to trigger earlier on in the game in comparison to Hallowgrove.
You'll know when the event triggers, as you'll hear Dew speak to you, and you'll be able to spot Soul Cocoons across the map.
How to Complete the Soul Harvest
Hunt Down Soul Cocoons
Once the event begins, you'll need to hunt down two Soul Cocoons by defeating the ominous-looking enemy and looting its body. Now be extra careful, as all the other hunters on the map will be alerted to your location once you pick up your first Soul Cocoon.
Place Soul Cocoons in a Fate Altar
After you take out a couple of mutated enemies, you need to deposit 2 Soul Cocoons to activate the Fate Altar to begin the Soul Harvest Ritual. The Fate Altar will only unlock after a certain duration. After a Gyldhunter activates an altar, players will no longer be able to perceive each other's locations.
Defeat the Soulgnawer
After a player activates the Fate Altar, Soulgnawer is awakened - you must defeat it. However, the Soulgnawer is no easy feat to take on; with her slithering around and dual-wielding blades, she delivers devastating punishment to players that aren't poised to dodge.
Upon conquering the boss, the Purification Prayer begins. Rival Gyldhunters can third-party the ritual to contest and seize control of the Fate Altar.
During the Purification Prayer, special Soul Incubators will spawn close by, which reduce the remaining prayer time. After the prayer is completed, the team who controls the zone will receive a special Soul Cocoon reward which can be spent at Stinger's shop.
The prayer rewards will always be granted to the team who controls the area when the prayer ends, even if they have been eliminated afterwards.
Give Richie a Soul Cocoon
In addition to the Soul Harvest Ritual, you can also deliver a Soul Cocoon to Richie, the in-game merchant. He will grant your entire team a special reward, which is sent to Stinger back at your camp. Upon returning home, players can claim the special Soul Cocoon and spend it on exclusive rewards.
New Vendor
You may have noticed a new adventurer in your game, and that's Stinger. He operates the Mistchaser Shop, where you can trade in your Soul Cocoons for special loot. Here are all the items in his three respective shops:
Glimmer Shop:
- Soulbound Serpent Crystal - Holy Construction Material

With some truly powerful loot on offer, it's definitely a good idea to dive head-first into this event. By completing the event in higher-level areas and modes, you'll increase your chances of obtaining higher rarity Soul Cocoons to spend.
The Soul Harvest event definitely adds some more excitement to each game and bolsters Mistfall Hunter's replayability factor. Judging by the quick updates and hotfixes, we can likely expect more new content and gameplay mechanics to be added in the not-so-distant future.
May your soul return to the Web of Fate, Gyldhunter.
