Mortal Shell 2: Best Tiel Build Guide
Here's the best build for Tiel.
Mortal Shell 2 has a wealth of shells for players to inhabit, effectively making your own flesh into a weapon. Each comes with its own passive skills and abilities that make each one feel distinct to play. However, we reckon that a lot of players will stick with Tiel for the long haul.
Tiel may be one of the first shells you get your hands on in Mortal Shell 2, but thanks to their great abilities and interesting shell upgrades, they remain a powerful force throughout the adventure. So, if you want some help setting up this character for success, here is a rundown of how to set up your Tiel build.
Where To Find Tiel's Shell
You can find Tiel's shell very early in the game, mere moments after you head to the Widow's Overlook beacon and head down the path towards the Mushroom Village.
Just right of the Mushroom Village, you'll find the Ritual Grounds, and in a shallow grave, you'll find the shell belonging to Tiel. Which now belongs to you.

Best Shell Abilities To Prioritize
First off, let's talk about shell abilities and upgrades, because this is truly where Tiel shines brighter than arguably all other options. Not because of their Shadow Strike skill, which admittedly is quite handy. But more because of their Shadow Dash ability that can trivialize a lot of encounters.
Above all, you'll want to focus on upgrading your Nightshade ability, as this widens the timing window of your dash, meaning almost all attacks dodged will trigger this ability when fully upgraded. Allowing you to get out of sight and get a sneak attack in.
But you'll also want to try to get enough glimpses to unlock the Seal Affinity skill, as this will not only increase your chances of taking to the shadows. But it will also make break buildup much easier to accumulate.
Then, as a slightly lower priority, but a good additional tactic to employ, is to focus on poison-based skills. Initially building an immunity through the Plague Bearer skill. Then employing skills like Poison Burst and Shadow Clone to deal consistent poison damage.
Best Weapons
As for weapons and sidearms. In the early game, we would suggest something fast and fluid, and in the case of the sidearm, with as much ammo as possible. This will lean into the critical hit focus of the Tarstones.
Early on, the Axe and Dagger is the ideal weapon, and the Forgotten Crossbow is the best accompaniment. But in the mid-to-late game. You can trade these out for the Axtana and the Caged Hystrix, respectively.
Best Passive & Active Items
For your active Item, I would suggest the Grisha's Remnant when fully upgraded. This will mean beating at least 3x Grisha Boss enemies, but that is easily done through natural play. This allows you to have two summons during fights where your Grisha will almost always stagger the enemy, allowing you to wail on them for a while.
Then, as for the passive, unless you are in an area where you need elemental protection, we would suggest the Common Moonshine, as damage reduction is always welcome.
Best Tarstones For Tiel
Lastly, we have the Tarstones. What we would suggest is choosing options that help increase the likelihood of critical hits and buff the strength of said critical hits. Stones like the Auspicious, Marksman, Headsman, and Grudge Stone do just that. The Bulwark stone makes up the numbers, bolstering your defense much like the Common Moonshine does.
Then, you'll want to go with the Hag Stone to get the most out of your poison burst ability, allowing you to get more stacks on the enemy and then detonate them with devastating effect.
Then lastly, ability stones are more of a mid-game option. When the time arrives, you'll want to equip the Fusillade Stone for more critical hit buffing, and the Hexapod Stone to really bring out the best of your Axtana with a killer finishing combo.
