Mortal Shell 2: All Main Weapon Locations
Here's how to find every main weapon in Mortal Shell 2.
Mortal Shell 2 isn't a game jam-packed with hundreds of weapon options. Which does mean that you perhaps don't have the build depth of Elden Ring, but what you do have is a set of fine-tuned weapons that all feel phenomenal to play around with.
But to use them, upgrade them, and get them all bloodsoaked, you have to find them first. So, we have put together a handy little cheat sheet listing all the weapon locations in MS2. Meaning you won't have to give Merrick any coins for his maps.
Iconoclast
This one is the default weapon that all players will receive at the start of the game. A solid two-handed sword option, and one that I used for the vast majority of the game. With this weapon, there's no gimmicks, just solid damage, and predictable inputs to ease you into the action.
Axe & Dagger
The Axe & Dagger is found in the Shrine of Trials dungeon. A dungeon that is only accessible if you are able to locate the Chapel Key. Which is found within the Mushroom Village.
This weapon is a fast and fluid option geared towards more nimble characters who want to get loads of attacks in, rather than those that want to land slow, devastating bonks. It's a great early game option, and the only alternative to the Iconoclast you'll have for a little while.
Great Martyr's Blade
The Great Martyr's Blade is a weapon that can be found near the Citadel. But thankfully, you don't actually need to access the fortress to gain access to this dungeon.
The Martyr's Prison is found through a crack in the wall right of the gate to the Citadel. Just battle through some low power enemies and you'll be able to fight through this dungeon and claim this weapon.
This is the best early game bonk stick you're going to get, with slow but immensely powerful heavy attacks perfect for a more tanky build.
Veteran's Battle Axe
This weapon can be found in The King's Crypt, an area accessed most easily by travelling from the Blackridge Pass Beacon. This weapon can be easily missed as it looks as though the hole at the end of the dungeon is a death fall, but trust us, it's fine. Leap down there. At the bottom of this hole, you'll find the chest containing the Veteran's Battle Axe.
As the name suggests, this is a heavy battleaxe, which can deal strong, heavy attacks. But, despite that, it's not the slowest swinging weapon of the bunch. So don't be discouraged if you like a quicker swing.
Black Needle
The Black Needle is a weapon that is gained for cleansing the corruption gate connected the The Sester's Gate. You'll need to defeat The Stray Sesters, and upon beating this boss, the weapon will be yours.
This weapon is a polearm that is best for stabbing enemies while maintaining a healthy distance so they cannot retaliate effectively. Giving you ample time to dodge, parry and counter.
Axatana
To get your hands on the Axtana, you'll need to travel to the Forgotten Tower. An area of the map that can be accessed most easily from the Silent Steps beacon, and then you can use a portal to launch yourself over to the floating island.
You'll want to head to the right side of this island, as there will be a closed gate that can be accessed by pressing a button nearby. Open this, and inside you'll find the Axatana.
This is a dual weapon of sorts. In its light attack form, it's a set of fast-slashing Katana. But when used for heavy attacks, these connect like Lego to form an axe capable of dealing heavy blows. It really is the best of both worlds, and a really fun weapon to master.
Obsidian Hammer
The Obsidian Hammer is a weapon that is found by accessing the Obsidianite Mines, an area located closest to the Abandoned Outpost Beacon.
To get this weapon, you will need to beat the boss named The Prophet of Profane Infinities. A boss that will also employ the use of snake tongue enemies as minions. So be ready for a busy fight. But, win, and you'll get this weapon.
This is the ultimate bonk stick where Mortal Shell 2 is concerned. It's the slowest swing by some distance, but the attacks are absolutely devastating.
Clockwork Scythe
To get your hands on the Clockwork Scythe, you'll need to engage in a test of endurance against a relentless boss around The Silent Steps.
This comes in the form of Sariel the Endless. You'll need to enter the Chamber of Becoming dungeon and fight him numerous times before he will eventually stay down. Not only awarding you the Clockwork Scythe but also serving as another Shell for your collection of characters.
The Clockwork Scythe is a large, rangy weapon that makes use of heavy, slow attacks with a forward momentum, allowing you to keep enemies at a safe distance, and then pounce on them with a powerful attack when the window prevents itself.
