Palworld: Best EXP Farming Methods (How to Level Up Fast)

Here's the top methods to farm easy experience and level up fast in Palworld.

Updated 4 min read

If you're jumping into Palworld's new 1.0 update, the odds are that you might have started a new save to enjoy the revamped monster-catching experience from the very beginning again. Or maybe you're simply a new player. Regardless of which category you fall into, every player has one thing in common: WE WANT EXPERIENCE, AND WE WANT PALS!

Palworld operates on a progression system that soft locks new Pals, equipment, and buildings behind a level requirement. Essentially, you must obtain lots of experience to access all of the new content added in 1.0. Luckily, we've got you covered with the best ways to accumulate experience quickly and fast-track you towards the long-awaited World Tree end zone.

Pal Capture EXP Bonus

Before Palworld left Early Access, the Paldeck offered players the chance to grab themselves a lump of experience points by capturing multiple copies of the same Pal. The bonus was achieved after successfully bagging 12 duplicates in your Pal Spheres, but 12 copies of the same Pal felt somewhat tedious once you'd surpassed the early areas. After higher-level Pals began putting up more of a fight against their inevitable capture, players felt that they were somewhat wasting their time by attempting this objective with little to show in terms of rewards.

With the release of Palworld 1.0, the amount of Pal duplicates required to hit the burst of experience points from the Paldeck was lowered to 5, making the whole process significantly faster. Additionally, Mimog Effigies have been added as an extra reward for obtaining 5 copies of any Pal. Mimog Effigies can be offered up to a Statue of Power to increase the player's movement speed, which is incredibly handy for both exploring and for combat prowess.

With the new changes, obtaining the huge chunk of EXP provided by the capture bonus has been made dramatically easier - making this goal the most important and time-efficient method of quickly gaining experience points in Palworld 1.0.

Missions

Completing Main Missions and Sub-Missions yields huge chunks of experience. You should naturally follow the progression of the main story regardless; there's no reason to miss out on the free EXP up for grabs. Be mindful to enter dialogue with every NPC you find, whether they are a Pal trainer or a lonely farmer; you never know who could task you with the simplest of objectives for easy rewards.

An example of easy Sub Missions is the Arrogant Pal Critics who think they know everything; you'll likely find the first one in the Small Settlement as you're following the main mission progression. These NPCs simply want to see specific Pals, which takes you two seconds to whip out and make them jealous while bagging yourself instantaneous levels.

Capturing Alpha Bosses

If you've spotted ominous circular Pal portraits on the map that also happen to state their level and exact location, these are called Alpha Pals. These foes should pose a significant threat, specifically in the early game. It's incredibly important to make sure you CAPTURE these bosses as opposed to killing them, as extra experience points are granted. Alpha Pals also respawn frequently, so it's definitely worth defeating them multiple times if you are in the area.

If you really want to push levels, you can spam Dungeons with the intention of capturing the boss at the end of each one. While repeating the same content isn't exactly the most interesting experience, it's definitely effective if you want a quick ticket to the World Tree.

Fast Travel + Location Unlocks

While exploring doesn't yield the highest amount of experience points, it provides a huge return on the small amount of effort required in comparison to defeating a boss. Make sure you're activating each Fast Travel point as you traverse new heights; you'll be gifted with small pots of experience points which add up significantly over time.

In conjunction with these handy checkpoints are new named Locations which also provide EXP gifts. If you see a building in the distance, don't ignore it. While your map might not notify you of any immediate points of interest, you might find yourself suddenly levelling up after being blessed by location EXP. Villages, ports, and any signs of civilisation are usually a trusty place to start.

Hunt Bounties

Signified by human-looking portraits, Bounty Targets are usually criminals wanted for their incessant mischief and are surrounded by a mysterious purple aura.

These red-eyed miscreants operate similarly to Alpha Pals with regular respawns and pots of experience points to seize. However, their aggressive nature ensures that they will attack on sight, unlike most Alpha Pals. Just be prepared to face a few pistols and assault rifles, rather than elemental skills. Bounty Targets may also be accompanied by loyal Pals, whom you can also capture.

Base Operations

You may have finished crafting your latest upgrade and noticed a swift level-up animation. That's because Palworld grants the player experience points each time you perform a base operation, like Crafting or Cooking. Now you know this information; make sure you're always leaving something quick, cheap, and easy cooking on the fire, and crafting on your workbenches.

I would recommend cooking Berries, since they are extremely plentiful after you construct your first farms, and crafting either Arrows, Nails, or Pal Spheres due to low material requirements.

These 6 methods should give you a huge head start in experience; you'll find yourself levelling up in no time. Your main and most important method is to utilize the 5 Capture Bonus for each Pal; it's easily repeatable and amazingly time-efficient.
