Final Fantasy Resonance: Best Early Visions To Unlock
The best Visions for an easier early game.
Final Fantasy Resonance marks the return of the series' turn-based combat. However, this title adds a feature called Visions that enhances gameplay by letting you add characters from other Final Fantasy games to your party.
To get these Visions, you will need to enter Sanctums of Light, which are scattered around the lands of Final Fantasy Resonance. However, in this guide, we'll show you the best ones that will be beneficial for that early game period.
Note: For this guide, we consider early game to be everything from Chapter 1 to Chapter 3.
The Warrior of Light
- Location: Kingdom of Grandshelt. North of the Village of Kol.
- Role: Sentinel
- Element: Light, Lightning, Earth, Recovery
- Resonance: Crystal Braver - Deal physical damage to all enemies, cast Regen on self, and increase own defense and spirit for 3 turns.
- World: Final Fantasy I
The Warrior of Light is one of the best Visions for early-game and beyond. First of all, he brings a variety of elements for damage and also healing. The Warrior also fits well with any of the initial party members, but we recommend Rain. A combination of the Warrior of Light with Rain makes for a great tank build, while also leaving space for healing if Fina is unavailable.
His Vanguard Glaive ability, which deals Light physical damage to an enemy and inflicts Provoke, will bring this tank build to its maximum efficiency thanks to the Passive ability Physical Defense +20%. The Awakening Level 1 abilities include strong defense buffs such as Shell at Half HP, which grants constant Shell when at less than half of max HP.
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Grit | Grants the ability to survive with 1 HP upon receiving damage exceeding HP once per battle. |
| Physical Defense +20% | Reduces damage taken from physical attacks by 20%. |
| Restore HP on Stagger | Restores 10% of max HP upon staggering an enemy. |
Cloud
- Location: Kingdom of Grandshelt. Desert area, North of Grandport Harbor.
- Role: Breaker
- Element: Water, Lightning.
- Resonance: Ascension – Deal Lightning physical damage to an enemy. Has a high critical hit rate.
- World: Final Fantasy VII
Cloud brings some of the best Staggering abilities in the game. Most importantly, though, those Stagger abilities are accompanied by Lightning or Water elemental damage. Base attacks alone are infused with 25 Stagger power.
Since Cloud focuses on Stagger damage, he is best when combined with Laswell, one of the party members with Staggering abilities as well. Critical Stagger alone is worth going for with Cloud, which increases stagger power by 40% upon dealing a physical critical hit. Another reason Cloud fits well with Laswell is that he complements the elementals he lacks.
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Deathblow | (Battle Skill) Guarantee a critical if attack lands, but with a low hit chance. |
| Critical Boost | Increases damage dealt by 40% upon dealing a physical critical hit. |
| Stagger Power +20% | Increases stagger power by 20%. |
Tidus
- Location: Olderion Federation. West of Aquapolis.
- Role: Breaker
- Element: Water, Wind, Recovery.
- Resonance: Blitz Ace - Deal Water physical damage to an enemy. The last hit targets all enemies.
- World: Final Fantasy X
Another Breaker that can be essential both early and through the rest of the game is Tidus. His Water attacks are the best Visions have to offer of this element, specifically his Resonance. This ultimate attack, Blitz Ace, will be essential in zones where there are many enemies with Water weakness, such as desert areas.
A good combination party member for Tidus is going to be Lid. Both of them have the elements that complement each other, with Lid bringing Earth spells, and Tidus bringing Water and Wind. Tidus also brings passives that improve speed and physical damage, allowing Lid to maximize the use of the Mechabo.
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Quick Hit | Once per turn, grants an additional action when defeating an enemy that same turn. |
| First Strike | Allows self to act first at the start of battle. |
| Reckless Abandonment | Increase MP cost of selected physical attack by 50%, but double its stagger power. |
Terra
- Location: Kingdom of Grandshelt. South of the Town of Felicitas.
- Role: Commando
- Element: Fire, Ice, Water
- Resonance: Riot Blade – Lotus. Deal non-elemental magic damage to all enemies.
- World: Final Fantasy VI
Terra is one of the Visions that is equipped with multiple Elements, making her compatible with most of the party members. However, we recommend her to be paired with Fina or Lid for making the best out of her kit.
For Fina, Terra adds the physical damage that she lacks while also boosting magic with passive abilities. With Lid, Terra can add the elemental damage she's missing; especially the Water spells will be a good combination for Lid's Earth-focused abilities. Additionally, Terra's Poison attack makes her one of the most dynamic Visions in terms of compatibility with every party member.
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Break the Limit | Raises damage cap to 99999. |
| Sharp Mind | Increases damage dealt by 100% when using a multi-target attack skill against a single enemy. |
| Auto-Faith | Grants constant Faith. |
Firion
- Location: Olderion Federation. Southwest woods of Aquapolis.
- Role: Breaker
- Element: Light, Wind, Lightning
- Resonance: Weaponsmaster - Deal Light physical damage to an enemy and fill LB gauge by 20%.
- World: Final Fantasy II
This Freedom Fighter brings one of the best survivability Visions in the game. His abilities, such as Nullify Instant Death and Drain Knife, will make him essential against one-shot bosses. For us, Firion partners perfectly with Nichol.
In addition to bringing survivability to Nichol, Firion has the elements that Nichol lacks. As if this isn't good enough, Firion's Arms Akimbo ability grants the use of two actions in a single turn, transforming Nichol into one of the most powerful magic users in the party.
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Arms Akimbo | Grant use of 2 actions in a single turn. |
| Nullify Instant Death | Prevents Instant Death. |
| Drain Knife | (Spellblade Skill) Deal physical damage to an enemy and drain HP from them. |
