Mistfall Hunter: How to Kill Greataxe Berserker

Mistfall Hunter has lots of objectives to follow, including Main Missions and Side Missions. However, sometimes the locations for these missions can be pretty hard to find, specifically the Tracking the Treasure questline. This guide will explain how to find and kill the Greataxe Berserker in Mistfall Hunter.

How to Find the Greataxe Berserker

Most players will be led to believe that the ominous red icon on the Hallowgrove map entitled 'Underlord' on the location list might be the guy you're looking for. If you hover over his icon, you'll be met with the 'Greataxe Berserker' label - this must be the correct place, right?

So upon entering the Supreme Hall, you're feeling somewhat underpowered and overwhelmed when you realize that each of your attacks deals 1 damage to the boss. It feels impossible, right? That's because you're challenging the more powerful boss, who is currently well beyond your capabilities at the time you naturally progress to this main mission. You'll be tasked with defeating this guy a little bit later in your quest progression, after you've geared up a bit.

The first boss you're looking for actually resides just outside of the Supreme Hall, roughly where the green marker is on the picture above. He'll be wandering around in flooded areas next to a couple of closed doors. In the picture above, the Supreme Hall is the building at the top-right. You can be extra sure you've got the right guy if you see an orange/yellow Berserker icon instead of a fiery red icon found on the Elite Greataxe Berserker actually inside the Supreme Hall.

How to Kill the Greataxe Berserker

Despite the Greataxe Berserker being the weaker boss, he's still a pain in the butt to fight, especially if you're doing a solo run. So here are my best tips to defeat him:

• Analyze his move rotation - he repeats the same two or three abilities that include him charging towards you with axe swings that have a pretty large hit radius.
• Don't dodge too early - hold onto your dodges until he's swinging his axe at you. The berserker will deal massive damage to you if you've fully depleted your stamina bar.
• A lot of his moves aren't blockable - if he's enveloped in a red aura, don't try to block or parry, as he is completely immune to interrupts.
• Try to attack after his axe combos - he'll usually pause for a couple of seconds before starting his next animations; that's the sweet spot to attack him.
• Use your throwables - you'll pick up items like throwing knives, axes, and traps, which are great to whittle down his health. Getting close to the boss is very dangerous; you should use all of your ranged abilities and consumables from a safe distance.
• Attack him while he's stunned - after you've lowered his health bar enough, he'll drop to his knees, exhausted, which is the perfect time to attack him.
• Be ready to use health potions - make sure you have enough health-recovering consumables before you start the fight; he'll undoubtedly force you to heal multiple times throughout the fight.
• And finally, grab a trio to easily defeat him.

How to Kill the Elite Greataxe Berserker

This tough guy definitely earned his reputation as the Underlord. Fighting him poses a real challenge that you're extremely unlikely to best alone; you'll fall instantly if you're not grouped up with other hunters. You'll have to unlock the Supreme Hall door and enter through a mysterious red barrier with a sigil in the middle. The sigil will lock the boss arena for the first minute or so, ensuring that other players cannot enter the Supreme Hall and mess up your boss attempt.

However, it's highly unlikely that you'll defeat the Elite Greataxe Berserker before the special barrier dissipates, meaning that you should always have your ears pricked for suspiciously loud human footsteps.

Other hunters are always looking for easy pickings; what could be better timing than capitalising on cooldowns and low health bars of a team mid-boss fight? If you do happen to hear another team or you realize you're going to die soon, you can actually exit the arena during the lockout period by interacting with the glyph the same way you would interact with a door.

The best team composition to attempt the boss with is most certainly a Withered Knight or Mercenary to tank the boss aggro, combined with a Support Seer to mitigate damage and another damage dealer like Blackarrow, Sorcerer, or Shadowstrix to pump out consistent DPS uninterrupted by boss aggro. But be warned, you'll still have to dodge some skills even as a backline hunter, which also pose a dangerous threat.

The tank should try to kite the boss around the outskirts of the arena and hug the walls in the opposite direction to their allies, which instantly reduces any threat towards them. You'll have to pop many potions and health consumables in order to withstand his massive damage numbers, so make sure you enter the hall well-equipped.

To sum up this monster of a fight, grab your friends and keep your finger on the dodge button. You'll need to grab yourself a full set of green gear to be in with a chance of defeating this mammoth of an axe-wielder.
