Mistfall Hunter: Path of Glory Guide

Of course, Mistfall Hunter has a ranked ladder and a whole load of bragging rights that come with it. Path of Glory is a standalone progression system that rewards hunters for increasing their skill level and rising through the ranks.

The ranked ladder begins with Duskborn as the lowest rank that all hunters are placed into, and ends with Zenith, which houses the most elite warriors.

How to Enable Path of Glory

Path of Glory isn't enabled automatically; you'll need to turn it on manually after unlocking it at level 6. When selecting an exploration mission, you'll find a tick box in the bottom right of the screen labelled 'Enable Path of Glory' - checking this box will enable the ranked ladder.

How to Check Path of Glory Progress?

The Path of Glory has a dedicated area in the Season tab where you can also check your current rank progress and any related rewards up for grabs.

Here are the rewards that you can look forward to:

• Duskborn - Pro Combat Bag
• Mistwalker - Elite Combat Bag (reach Mistwalker and complete 3 matches to claim)
• Dawnseeker - Avatar: Thread of Fate (reach Dawnseeker and complete 3 matches to claim)
• Fateweaver - Earrings: Demonic Stone (reach Fateweaver and complete 3 matches to claim)
• Oracle - Helmet: Winged Helm (reach Oracle and complete 3 matches to claim)
• Exalted - Emote: Get Up! (reach Exalted and complete 3 matches to claim)
• Zenith - Emote: Standing Pose: Confidence (reach Zenith and complete 3 matches to claim)

There's a pretty heavy incentive to rank up in Mistfall Hunter, aside from the leaderboard and bragging rights.

How Are Path of Glory Points Earned?

Interestingly, Mistfall Hunter implements a point system to track players' skill, which is great, as one would assume that you only ascend the ranks by defeating every team on each map.

The amount of ranked points that can be gained each match is capped at 90, which is definitely something to be aware of if you're looking to min-max your competitive progression. Here are all the ways to gather ranked points:

• Standard Extraction: 5 Points
• In-Match Tasks Completed (Shared): 5
• Fight to the Last: 10
• First Container Opened (Shared): 10
• Assets Extracted: 10
• Elites Defeated (Shared): 10
• Defeat Underlord (Shared): 20
• Defeat Mist Lord (Shared): 30
• Gyldhunters Defeated (Shared): 80

Defeating other hunters is definitely the most valuable task you can complete in a run, with Extractions only providing a potential 15 ranked points. Interestingly, defeating the Mist Lord doesn't actually grant a lord of points considering how challenging the task is.

However, the ranked point system changes slightly when a player reaches Fateweaver I. At this rank, normal difficulty expeditions no longer grant ranked points, meaning that hunters must queue either Hallowgrove Chaos mode or Brandrgarde Cataclysm mode, which is unlocked at level 12.

The Best Ways to Quickly Climb The Ranks

If you're queueing as a pre-made trio, make sure you have an effective team composition before you set out on your ranked expedition.

• At least one tank - either a Withered Knight or Mercenary to soak damage in the frontline and jump on the enemy's backline, creating space for their other allies to pump out damage.
• At least one damage dealer - either a Shadowstrix, Blackarrow, or Sorcerer, with ideally one ranged attacker.
• A Seer is extremely valuable - while a Seer isn't a necessity, they're definitely super effective with their healing and shielding in a PvP setting.
• If your team consists of 3 ranged attackers, you might be in trouble.

While you don't have to conform to any specific team composition, it's essential to make sure you have both a frontline and a backline to excel in PvE and PvP situations. I would also advise funneling a majority of your playtime into one class; PvP combat is ultimately decided by skill and talent mastery to create the maximum synergy within your abilities and gear.

You should study the point distribution above and decide what kind of ranked point run you would like to embark on. My suggestion is to spend a brief amount of time farming to satisfy a range of small point requirement tasks, and then spend the rest of your time hunting down other players to claim the huge point bounty.

Alternatively, you can purely focus on PvE activity and defeating bosses around the map, but you'll definitely need to prepare yourself for human challengers looking to vulture your loot.

If you're not feeling up to the challenge, or you need a few runs to upgrade your gear, remember that you can manually toggle the Path of Glory on or off depending on your predicted success.
